Iskcon to hold 3-day 3-day Janmashtami fest

Varanasi: Iskcon Varanasi is gearing up to celebrate three-day Janmashtami festival from Aug 15. Rasik Govind Prabhu on Wednesday said that the temple will be a vibrant spiritual hub filled with kirtan, devotion, cultural programmes, divine darshan, and prasadam distribution for three days. The events include Krishna Lila Katha Pravachan, daily morning discourses by Bhakti Padma Saurabh Pracharak Swami Maharaj, kirtan, and cultural evenings. The kirtans will be presented by Visudhha Band of IIT BHU alumni. There will be a devotional dance competition featuring leading schools of Varanasi. From midnight on Aug 16, a 24-hour Harinaam Sankirtan will be held while Grand Kalash Maha-Abhishek and Prasad distribution will be held on Aug 15 and 16. Jagannath Rath Yatra by ISKCON at Kanuru on July 5

The ISKCON-Vijayawada is set to organise a grand Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsavam in Kanuru on Saturday (July 5). The yatra will begin at 4:30 p.m. The procession will begin at Sri Sai Geeta Mandiram and proceed through Pantakaluva Road, passing by Nagarjuna Hospitals, NextGen Public School, Autonagar 100-ft. Road and Bandar Road, finally culminating at Sri Sai Baba Kalyana Mandapam, opposite Autonagar Bus Stand, according to ISCKON temple president Chakradhari Das. In a press release here on Friday, he said the yatra will be flagged off by MLA Bode Prasad, and will feature vibrant Harinaam Sankirtan, devotional music and a ceremonial parade of the deities — Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Devi — mounted on a decorated chariot.
