Amitabh Bachchan calls son Abhishek his "true inheritor" in emotional post
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan wrote an emotional blog post dedicated to his son, Abhishek. The Sholay actor praised Abhishek not just as his son but as someone who has truly earned his respect as an actor through hard work and brave choices. Amitabh began his post by sharing a quote from his father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan: "My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors; they who shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons." The megastar also shared that Abhishek has proved himself and earned the right to be called his true inheritor — not by birth, but by merit. "He has dared to take on films and characters that challenged him, and he 'acted'," Amitabh wrote. "He dared to act and be recognised," he added with pride. Amitabh Bachchan's first bungalow was not Jalsa, Abhishek and Aishwarya got married here, Aaradhya was first brought here, it was locked after…., name is…
The megastar of the century Amitabh Bachchan has many properties. Out of which the most talked about is the Pratiksha bungalow located in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Its price is Rs 50 crore, and the actor gifted it to his daughter Shweta Bachchan in November 2024 and made a lot of headlines. However, this is not his second property. Rather, it is the first bungalow, which he bought with his wife and actress Jaya Bachchan and he has a very deep connection with it. Amitabh Bachchan's father Harivansh Rai Bachchan had named this bungalow 'Pratiksha' and the actor welcomed both his children Abhishek and Shweta in this house. Not only this, his son's wedding also took place in this house. Aishwarya Rai came as a daughter-in-law. The history of this bungalow is very old. Big B bought it in 1976 right after the success of the film 'Sholay' and three years had passed since the actor's marriage. Amitabh Bachchan had asked his mother Teji Bachchan, and father poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan to live together in this bungalow. Both children were born here. The actor had told in an episode of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', 'Pratiksha is a very beautiful name. People ask me why did you name your house Pratiksha, but I tell them that I did not choose it, my father chose it. I had asked my father why did you name it Pratiksha, he has a poem in which there is a line – Swagat Sabke Liye Hai Par Nahi Hain Kisi Ke Liye Pratiksha.' Amitabh Bachchan also got Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan married in the same bungalow in 2007. They got married following North, South and Bengali rituals. Apart from this, Aaradhya was also first brought to Pratiksha after birth. Because by then the Bachchan family had shifted to Jalsa, the bungalow they live in now. But after Aaradhya was born, they did not take her directly to Jalsa. They first brought her to Pratiksha to seek the blessings of their late great-grandparents. Amitabh Bachchan and his entire family shifted to Jalsa after the death of his parents . After his mother's death in 2007, this bungalow was closed and it was locked for two decades. He kept this house as it was. He kept the memories of his parents alive.

Amitabh Bachchan Praises Indian Army, Says Heroes 'Don't Praise Their Own Bravery'
Last Updated: Amitabh Bachchan shared a verse by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, highlighting its relevance amid India-Pakistan tensions. Amitabh Bachchan, in the wake of the recent India-Pakistan tensions — including Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam attack — shared a powerful verse written by his father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The megastar reflected on his father's timeless words and their deep relevance to the present moment, through his X post, numbered T 5376. The title he quoted, 'Sur samar karni karahin, kahi na janavahin aap," is drawn from Ramcharitmanas, specifically the Lakshman-Parashuram samvaad penned by the saint-poet Tulsidas. These words describe the essence of true heroism — that real warriors do not boast; they act. Bravery is not declared, it is demonstrated. It is only the coward who, on seeing the enemy, makes loud claims of valour. Amitabh explained that his father had written these words during the 1965 India-Pakistan war — a time when the country emerged victorious. For his contribution, Harivansh Rai Bachchan was awarded the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1968. Nearly six decades later, his poetry still resonates with unshaken truth and clarity. Amitabh concluded that these words — written so many years ago — are a mirror to today's reality. He said that a poet's vision, born out of patriotism and wisdom, still breathes life and strength into the soul of the nation. In a heartfelt post on X, he condemned the killing of innocent tourists in the name of religion and concluded with a poignant poem by his father. Taking to X, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, 'Chhuttiyaan maante hue, us raakshas ne, nirdosh pati-patni ko baahar kheench kar, pati ko nagn kar, uske dharm ki poorti karne ke baad, use jab goli maarne laga, to patni ne, ghutnon pe gir kar, ro ro kar anurodh karne ke baad bhi, ki uske pati ko na maaro; uske pati ko us buzdil raakshas ne, behed berahmi se, goli maar kar, patni ko vidhwa bana diya!!
