Amitabh Bachchan Praises Indian Army, Says Heroes 'Don't Praise Their Own Bravery'
Last Updated:
Amitabh Bachchan shared a verse by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, highlighting its relevance amid India-Pakistan tensions.
Amitabh Bachchan, in the wake of the recent India-Pakistan tensions — including Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam attack — shared a powerful verse written by his father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The megastar reflected on his father's timeless words and their deep relevance to the present moment, through his X post, numbered T 5376.
The title he quoted, 'Sur samar karni karahin, kahi na janavahin aap," is drawn from Ramcharitmanas, specifically the Lakshman-Parashuram samvaad penned by the saint-poet Tulsidas. These words describe the essence of true heroism — that real warriors do not boast; they act. Bravery is not declared, it is demonstrated. It is only the coward who, on seeing the enemy, makes loud claims of valour.
Amitabh explained that his father had written these words during the 1965 India-Pakistan war — a time when the country emerged victorious. For his contribution, Harivansh Rai Bachchan was awarded the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1968. Nearly six decades later, his poetry still resonates with unshaken truth and clarity.
Amitabh concluded that these words — written so many years ago — are a mirror to today's reality. He said that a poet's vision, born out of patriotism and wisdom, still breathes life and strength into the soul of the nation.

After weeks of cryptic silence marked by numbered blank tweets, Amitabh Bachchan finally addressed the India-Pakistan tensions and the Pahalgam terror attack on Sunday. In a heartfelt post on X, he condemned the killing of innocent tourists in the name of religion and concluded with a poignant poem by his father.
Taking to X, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, 'Chhuttiyaan maante hue, us raakshas ne, nirdosh pati-patni ko baahar kheench kar, pati ko nagn kar, uske dharm ki poorti karne ke baad, use jab goli maarne laga, to patni ne, ghutnon pe gir kar, ro ro kar anurodh karne ke baad bhi, ki uske pati ko na maaro; uske pati ko us buzdil raakshas ne, behed berahmi se, goli maar kar, patni ko vidhwa bana diya!!

Diljit Dosanjh must ‘apologise', remove all ‘objectionable scenes' from Sardaar Ji 3, says Mika Singh
Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has been facing backlash for the last few days, ahead of the release of his upcoming movie Sardaarji 3. He is paired opposite Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the film. Mika Singh had lashed out at Diljit and called him a 'fake singer'. Now, he has added that 'mistakes' can be made by anyone and Diljit will be forgiven only if apologises for his own mistakes. (Also read: Mika Singh slams 'fake singer' Diljit Dosanjh for casting Pak actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, says 'nation first') Diljit Dosanjh was called out by Mika Singh for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. Taking to his Instagram Stories, Diljit wrote, 'Guys, I understand we all make mistakes in life. But when we do, there's one simple word that holds power: Sorry. If Diljit made a mistake, we are all willing to forgive. But he must apologise and remove all the objectionable scenes from the movie. That's it. No hate. Just respect. Desh pehle (Nation first).' Mika via Instagram Stories. 'They should think twice' Earlier, Mika had said, "Desh pehle (Country first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn't going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice — especially when our nation's dignity is involved.' Sardaar Ji 3 will release in theatres outside India on June 27. Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu of White Hill Studios alongside Story Time Productions. Meanwhile, All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also criticised Dosanjh and the movie's team for casting Hania Aamir in the movie. The controversy comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, followed by India's Operation Sindoor on May 7, in which air strikes were carried out on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Several Pakistani artists, including Hania Aamir, had their social media accounts made no longer accessible in India following the ghastly Pahalgam attack.

Amid Hania Aamir- Sardaar Ji 3 Row, Punjabi Singer Jasbir Jassi Supports Diljit Dosanjh: "Why These Double Standards?"
Ever since the internet spotted Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 trailer, the outrage has been tremendous. The makers have skipped the film's India release amid the India-Pakistan tensions, propelled by the Pahalgam terror attack (April 22) and Operation Sindoor (May 7). After Diljit announced the release date of the film (June 27), authorities like the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) have decided to ban Diljit Dosanjh in India. Now, Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi has extended his support towards Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing backlash. He told NDTV, that he respects "people's sentiments that we should love our country, that we should stand by our country", however, he also called people out on their "double standards", as he justifies how there are many songs in Indian films that are sung by artists of other countries. What's Happening Amid the ongoing Hania Aamir-Sardaar Ji 3 controversy, Jasbir Jassi has spoken up on why the severe backlash against Diljit Dosanjh is a sign of "double standards". He told NDTV, "I'm seeing how Diljit Dosanjh and his film are facing protests on social media because that film also stars a Pakistani artiste. I respect people's sentiments that we should love our country and that we should stand by our country. But, why these double standards? If you don't want any Pakistani artists singing, acting or working in any Indian film, you want to ban them. But 80% of the songs of our industry have been stolen, be it their tunes or words or the entire songs. There are so many songs in our films that have been sung by the artists of that country. I don't want to take names because the list is too long. So, why these double standards?" He added, "Either get rid of all those songs from YouTube, Spotify and other digital platforms. But not like this, you take just one artiste and start protesting against them. It's like someone came to your house with something to eat and then you start calling them the enemy but you keep eating the things or sweets they brought along with them. If you want to ban (Pakistani artists), ban them completely. Get all that content available in the world lifted... why are you banning films of one artist at a time? Jasbir Jassi's comments come after singer Mika criticised Diljit Dosanjh for working with Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. What We Know So Far After the internet reacted strongly against seeing a Pakistan artist feature in an upcoming regional film, Diljit Dosanjh has received severe flak. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President, BN Tiwari told NDTV that they have decided to issue a directive to ban Diljit Dosanjh and other producers of the film in India. BN Tiwari told NDTV, "There will be complete non co-operation. If the film released anywhere, we will issue a directive of non co-operation. We will ensure that Diljit Dosanjh won't get work (films or concerts) in any part of India." "If he doesn't withdraw the release of the film, he won't get work in India," BN Tiwari added. Along with the FWICE, the All Indian Cine Workers Association also decided to ban Diljit Dosanjh from working in India. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Ashok Pandit reacted to the news. "This is sheer arrogance. You think it doesn't matter to you (Diljit Dosanjh). This is arrogance. And it's important to break this arrogance. It's important to break this arrogance. By living in this country, by earning in this country, by using this country, the emotions of the people here... Look, you have a huge responsibility. Because you have lakhs of followers. You have so many followers that your responsibility increases," he said. In A Nutshell The rage against Hania Aamir starring with Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 refuses to simmer down. Now Indian singer and actor Jasbir Jassi has shared his opinion on why it is extremely unfair to target just one Pakistani artist, when "80% of the songs in our Indian films" have been stolen.

FWICE slams Diljit for defending Sardaar Ji 3 release, Hania Aamir's casting: How have they forgotten Uri, Pulwama?
Amid growing controversy surrounding his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has finally addressed the backlash over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir stating, 'Bahut saari cheezein humare haath mein nahi hoti.' Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir in a still from the film.D There had been widespread speculation that Hania would be dropped from the film following calls to ban Pakistani artistes in India after the Pahalgam terror attack. However, on Tuesday, when the trailer of the film was released online, her appearance was confirmed, sparking further outrage. Several film bodies in India have since called for a boycott of Diljit and are demanding his removal from the upcoming film Border 2. Now, finally breaking his silence on the matter, in an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit said,, 'Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. They know there will be a loss because you're removing an entire territory. Even when I signed the film, everything was fine. Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them.' Also Read | Mika Singh accuses Diljit Dosanjh of betraying fans amid Hania Aamir-Sardaar Ji 3 row: 'People continue to act…' Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has raised strong objection to Diljit working with a Pakistani artiste and has written letters to the Government of India asking for strict actions against the film and its makers. Reacting to Diljit defending Sardaar Ji 3's release overseas, Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker and Chief Advisor, FWICE and President Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), says, 'How have they forgotten Uri, Pulwama, or Mumbai attack or so many other attacks that Pakistan did on our country? Then you are picking up Pakistani artiste when FWICE and other film bodies issued a non cooperation against Pakistan artistes. When an entire country is against that nation, you cherry pick a Pakistani actor. Basically you are trying to be arrogant, trying to be careless about emotions of this country!' adding, 'Diljit has not responded and condemned what this actress has spoken about Operation Sindoor and our country. Not once has he spoken against what she said and his silence is raising doubts in minds of people about his intentions.' On Diljit's former manager Sonali Singh's Instagram post, he further says, 'The response (statement on Instagram) is quite childish and it's sad that they are trying to communalise the issue. It has nothing to do with any religion, be it Sikhism or Hinduism. The argument which she is giving - definitely the voice of Diljit - saying that the film was shot before what happened in Pahalgam is quite shameful." Ask about the reasoning given by Diljit and the film's makers about Sardaar Ji 3 incurring major financial loss if not released, BN Tiwari, President, FWICE, tells us, "Film bani hai, foreign mein shoot hua hai, Pakistan ke 4-5 artist hai, Diljit Dosanjh itne bade star hai, toh paise to lagenge. Iske producers foreigners hai but jo 28 log maare haye hai unki life ki koi keemat nahi hai? Agar money hi issue hai toh hum chanda collect kara sakte hai, India se de denge. India mein bohot patriotic log hai." Comparing it to Fawad Khan-starrer Abir Gulal, which is yet to see the light of the day, he adds, "Abir Gulaal ko unhone rok diya. Yeh film (Sardaar Ji 3) kya usse badi hai? When the makers of this film didn't react to our initial opposition, we thought that they have replaced the Pakistani artistes but we only got to know through the trailer that they are still in the film." Tiwari emphasises the issue is not a personal grievance against Diljit. "Humara Diljit Dosanjh se koi lena dena nahi hai. Hum to support karte hai, lekin Operation Sindoor hua and in the middle of all this yeh sab chal raha hai. Till now Diljit hasn't issued a statement connected to the country, or said he is sorry. He doesn't have anything to do with India or Bollywood? Jaha se humari pehchaan bani hai, woh ye hi dharti hai. Personal humara unse koi problem nahi hai," he says, adding, 'Sonali ji ka jo statement hai but unhe sochna chahiye ki jo bacche aaj anath ho gaye hai, jinke husband ki death ho gayi. Ek baar bhi inke taraf se koi tweet aaya? Koi statement aayi?'
