Calne: 47 firefighters tackle eight-hour industrial blaze
Almost 50 firefighters have been tackling a fire at an industrial site that was ablaze for more than eight services attended the two storey industrial unit on Harris Road in Porte Marsh Industrial Estate at Calne in Wiltshire at 13:20 BST on and Wiltshire fire service warned locals to stay away from the area and keep windows closed due to the large volume of around 21:45 BST the crews made up of of 47 firefighters finally extinguished the fire, a spokesperson said.
"The fire has been extinguished, so we only have one crew and the aerial ladder platform dealing with hotspots," they said."We are liaising with on-site staff ahead of handing the site back."
