Oregon Football fans react to EA Sports CFB 26's strange choices for Ducks

The EA Sports College Football 26 video game is set to drop in a matter of weeks, so new details and trailers have been pouring out over the last months as fans prepare to dive back into the beloved gaming franchise and get onto the digital gridiron. On Tuesday, CFB26 released a deep dive into the revamped Dynast Mode of the game, showing all of the changes in this year's version of the game, from coaching and player archetypes to new recruiting tools. While there were a lot of encouraging takeaways for gamers, Oregon Duck fans seemed to focus on a couple of, let's say, "interesting" choices that the game made in their release. The first, and most minor detail, was the appearance of Dan Lanning in the video game. With over 300 college coaches being introduced, it's fun to see your favorite head man in the game, but some of them may not look quite accurate in the digital world. More importantly, though, the game highlighted a particular Oregon player as they went through different archetypes. The only problem, though, was that the player — LB linebacker Harrison Taggart — is no longer on Oregon's roster, and hasn't been in a few years. Taggart enrolled at Oregon in 2022, but transferred to the BYU Cougars in 2023, and has since again transferred to the California Golden Bears earlier this year in 2025. Here's a look at how Duck fans reacted to the two details from the game trailer release: The Dynasty Mode Deep Dive What does EA Sports Know? What does @EASPORTSCollege know that we don't?? 👀😂 Is This Tampering? CFB 26 tampering for Oregon with Harrison Taggart is definitely not something I had on my 2026 bingo card That's Dan Lanning? That is not Dan Lanning 😭 Yea, That's Not Dan Lanning Who the hell is this? Cuz it ain't Dan Lanning… Kirkland Brand Dan Lanning "We have Dan Lanning at home" Contact/Follow @Ducks_Wire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Oregon Ducks news, notes, and opinions.

Colorado offers an FCS linebacker hoping to bolster its front seven

Colorado offers an FCS linebacker hoping to bolster its front seven Colorado is continuing to look for linebacker depth in the transfer portal after missing out on BYU transfer Harrison Taggart last week. The Buffaloes offered and are looking to bring former FCS linebacker Shaun Myers in on a visit as soon as tomorrow, according to Allen Trieu of 247 Sports. The transfer from North Alabama would come to Boulder with one year of eligibility remaining. Myers is coming off a season where he only played two games for the Lions, but his 2023 season speaks to his upside. In that season, Myers played in all 11 games, totaling 58 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. Myers is a tad undersized for an off-the-ball linebacker at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, but his athletic ability allows him to hang tight in coverage. A team caption at North Alabama, Myers would be a useful voice of leadership on a defense that lacks experience at spots. Taggart's commitment to Cal leaves head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes still searching for a linebacker to shore up their depth. While Myers might not be the flashiest add, there's no doubt that he would be able to contribute on and off the field for Colorado. Colorado maintains the No. 20 ranked transfer portal class in the country, which is second in the Big 12, according to 247 Sports. Colorado, Deion Sanders Dealt Disappointing Transfer Portal Update

The Colorado Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders have been extremely active in the transfer portal this offseason, bringing in a total of 26 players for a class that ranks No. 24 in the nation, per On3. Some of their biggest additions have come on the defensive side of the ball, including players like three-star defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis (Alabama) and three-star safety Makari Vickers (Oklahoma). Advertisement It appeared that Colorado may have soon been landing another big-time commitment, as they were named as one of the three finalists for linebacker Harrison Taggart, who had spent 2024 with the BYU Cougars. Unfortunately for them, though, Taggart decided to pass on the Buffaloes, instead committing to play for the California Golden Bears on Thursday. Of course, it's a big miss for Colorado and a huge gain for Cal, as Taggart had an impressive 2024 season, appearing in 12 games, accumulating 69 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble. He originally started his career with the Oregon Ducks in the 2022 recruiting class, where On3 Industry Rankings placed him as a four-star prospect, the No. 26 linebacker and the No. 255 player in the nation. UCF Knights running back RJ Harvey (7) is tackled by BYU linebacker Harrison Taggart (11).Russell Lansford-Imagn Images Now, instead of suiting up for Colorado and Sanders, it will remain to be seen if he can help improve the Golden Bears' defense, which in 2024 ranked 36th in both points per game allowed (22.3) and total yards per game allowed (337.5). Advertisement Taggart also joins a growing list of defense threats Cal has brought in through the portal, including three-star EDGE Jayden Wayne (Washington), three-star defensive lineman Tyson Ford (Notre Dame) and three-star safety Tristan Dunn (Washington).
