Oregon Football fans react to EA Sports CFB 26's strange choices for Ducks
The EA Sports College Football 26 video game is set to drop in a matter of weeks, so new details and trailers have been pouring out over the last months as fans prepare to dive back into the beloved gaming franchise and get onto the digital gridiron.
On Tuesday, CFB26 released a deep dive into the revamped Dynast Mode of the game, showing all of the changes in this year's version of the game, from coaching and player archetypes to new recruiting tools. While there were a lot of encouraging takeaways for gamers, Oregon Duck fans seemed to focus on a couple of, let's say, "interesting" choices that the game made in their release.
The first, and most minor detail, was the appearance of Dan Lanning in the video game. With over 300 college coaches being introduced, it's fun to see your favorite head man in the game, but some of them may not look quite accurate in the digital world.
More importantly, though, the game highlighted a particular Oregon player as they went through different archetypes. The only problem, though, was that the player — LB linebacker Harrison Taggart — is no longer on Oregon's roster, and hasn't been in a few years.
Taggart enrolled at Oregon in 2022, but transferred to the BYU Cougars in 2023, and has since again transferred to the California Golden Bears earlier this year in 2025.
Here's a look at how Duck fans reacted to the two details from the game trailer release:

Is This Tampering?

Watch MSU star Coen Carr throw down monster dunk on opening night of Moneyball Pro-Am
It didn't take long for Coen Carr to impress the crowd on opening night of the Moneyball Pro-Am event It's the opening night of the Moneyball Pro-Am and to no surprise Coen Carr has already thrown down a highlight reel dunk. The annual Moneyball Pro-Am tipped off on Tuesday night, with a number of Spartans taking place in the opening games. That included Carr, who was quick to impress the crowd with a massive alley-oop dunk. Check out the incredible athletic play from Carr in the social media video post below (courtesy of the account @FromEastLansing): Sure, the dunk itself isn't anywhere near the best stuff we've seen from Carr. But do you see the lift off the floor Carr is getting? His face is above rim level as he's finishing off the dunk -- that's not something seen often from some of the best NBA dunkers, let alone a college player. The Moneyball Pro-Am event will run through July so prepare for more monster plays from Carr and other Spartans over the next few weeks. Athlon names four Ohio State football players to its Preseason All-American teams
You know it's close to the start of college football season when the preseason college football magazines start to hit the shelf and show up online. One of the most read out there that's been around since I can remember is Athlon Sports. I can remember sitting down during many summers after picking up the old school magazine, and sitting down to leaf through its contets. Of course, I was interested in all of the Ohio State content, but there was plenty in there to keep me entertained and occupied for hours. Well, it's that time of year again, and we're interested in all things Buckeye related this time around as well. Athlon highlighted its All-American team and included four OSU players among both its First and Second All-America Teams. On the First Team was -- as you can guess -- safety Caleb Downs and receiver Jeremiah Smith. Both are thought of by most national outlets and publications as the best player on defense and offense in the country, so it makes a lot of sense. Both should have fantastic years. As a freshman, Smith caught 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns. Downs was used as a roving athlete who made plays all over the field. But those two weren't the only Ohio State players to be recognized as All-Americans by Athlon. On the Second Team were linebacker Sonny Styles and wide receiver Carnell Tate. Both have a tremendous upside and flashed what they can do last season, but both should be even better this coming fall. Tate was in the shadow of Smith, but he hauled in 52 catches for 733 yards and four touchdowns. Don't be surprised if his numbers go well beyond that this fall and look more like Smith's because of all the attention he'll attract. It should be a great year in Columbus with these four players leading the way. Don't be surprised if a couple of other players make a name for themselves as well. Former Texas A&M lefty promoted to Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate
The big-league news continues for the Texas A&M baseball program, as a former Aggie arm was promoted to the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate on Tuesday afternoon. After he posted a 1.00 ERA and 15 strikeouts across 9.0 relief innings for the Double-A Arkansas Travelers, left-hander Brandyn Garcia got the call from the franchise to pack his bags and join the Tacoma Rainiers. Since being drafted by the Mariners with the No. 337 pick in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Garcia has secured a 10-7 record with a 2.50 ERA, 175 strikeouts and seven saves. The 6-foot-4-inch lefty from Granby, Connecticut, began his collegiate career at Quinnipiac before transferring to Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 campaign. In his lone season in College Station, Garcia struck out 56 batters in 43.2 innings of work and posted a 5.56 ERA. While his college numbers didn't jump off the page, Garcia flashed quality stuff out of the bullpen and showed consistent improvement during his stint with the Aggies. Before stepping onto a college diamond, he was ranked as the No. 48 overall player in Connecticut via Perfect Game USA. Since joining the Mariners' organization, he has rapidly climbed the minor league ranks and continues to prove his value as a reliever. In a recent outing against the Wichita Wind Surge, Garcia entered in relief and immediately made a statement, securing the victory for Arkansas. He might not be the most flashy pitcher in the MiLB, but Garcia's stuff gets the job done. His confidence on the mound speaks volumes, proven by his incredible performances during his time with the Travelers. Now, it is time for Garcia to show what he can do on the next big stage with the Rainiers.
