Police, TTD officials join hands to assist pilgrims in Tirumala

Tirupati: The Tirupati district police and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have launched a new volunteer service called "May I Help You" to provide assistance and information to devotees visiting Tirumala. Based on the advice of Tirupati SP and TTD CVSO V Harshavardhan Raju, police personnel and TTD vigilance and security department staff will wear "May I Help You" jackets and be stationed at high pilgrim congregation points across Tirumala. The initiative aims to address the challenges faced by devotees in navigating the complex systems in place, particularly in crowded areas. With nearly 60,000-70,000 pilgrims on weekdays and up to 1 lakh devotees on weekends, festive, and holiday seasons, visitors often get confused and are vulnerable to misinformation from middlemen or touts. The new service will provide assistance with such queries and help devotees in distress, including those searching for lost children. According to Harshavardhan Raju, an average of 3-4 child missing cases are reported daily at Tirumala. The "May I Help You" service will facilitate quick reporting and tracing of missing children in real-time. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 2025 Top Trending local enterprise accounting software [Click Here] Esseps Learn More Undo A total of 18 volunteers from the police and TTD will operate in three shifts, positioning themselves at crowded areas such as the Tirumala temple precincts, Laddu counters, and Central Reception Office.
