"For the first time after the formation of the present govt for the third time, the elections of HSGPC were conducted peacefully. This committee will play an important role in the operation and management of Sikh gurdwaras in the state," the CM said. It is noteworthy that earlier, 40 members of the committee were elected. Now, 9 other members have been unanimously chosen, many of whom came to meet the chief minister on Sunday.
During the meeting, the CM expressed hope that the delegation will do the work of 'Guru Ghar' with transparency and selflessness. The CM assured that the state govt will provide all possible support to the committee so that it can work in the interest of society and establish a unique identity for itself. The delegation also put forward some suggestions related to the Sikh community before the CM, to which Saini responded positively and promised to fulfil on the issue of water, the Saini said Punjab and Haryana are bound by the bond of brotherhood. "We are all one. The Mann govt of Punjab should not do politics on an issue like water. The water to which Haryana has a right should be given to it. There should be equal distribution of water in accordance with the teachings of the Gurus, so that everyone can benefit," the Haryana chief minister said. MSID:: 121080422 413 |
