Taiz next Saturday hosts eye free medical camp in Military Hospital
Sana'a - Saba: The Health Care Association for Affected Communities will launch its (66) free eye surgery camp next Saturday at the General Military Hospital in the Taiziyah District of Taiz Governorate. The camp, which will be held from 10 to 15 Muharram, is funded by the General Authority for Zakat in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment. It aims to provide examination services and perform 200 surgeries, including cataracts, pterygium, and eyelid cysts. Hassan Tamah, head of the Health Committee at the General Authority for Zakat, emphasized the Authority's commitment to supporting and funding medical camps to alleviate the suffering of citizens, assist the needy, and meet needs in remote areas lacking access to services. For his part, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the Health Care Association, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the free camp is part of a series of camps organized by the association as part of its solidarity projects, embodying the mercy of Islam, its commitment to caring for the poor, and its commitment to charitable and righteous deeds. He stated that during the first three days of the camp, which will be held in cooperation with the governorate's health office, screening and examinations will be conducted, identifying cases requiring surgical intervention and subjecting them to pre-operative tests. Next week two medical camps start in Baydha, Rada'a
Sana'a - Saba: Next week, the Health Care Association for Affected Communities will launch the 64th and 65th free ophthalmology and eye surgery camps in Baydha City and Rada'a District, Baydha Governorate, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment and with funding from the General Authority for Zakat. The two camps, which will run for six days each, in cooperation with the governorate's health office and al-Thawra Hospital in Baydha and Rada'a General Hospital, aim to conduct free examinations and surgeries for cataracts, pterygium removal, and sebaceous cysts from the eyelids. Hassan Tamah, head of the Zakat Authority's health committee, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the camps aim to assist the needy, meet their needs, and promote social solidarity and charity for the poorest and most needy groups. For his part, the association's president, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, stated that during the first two days of the camp, which will be held at Al-Thawra Hospital in Baydha from May 17 to 22, examinations and screening will be conducted, as well as identifying cases requiring surgical intervention and subjecting them to pre-operative tests. He indicated that the same procedures will be implemented at the second camp, which will be held from May 19 to 24 at Rada'a General Hospital.
