GWM's sales 'outpace 2024 total' in first six months of 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd's (GWM) sales in the first half of 2025 (1H25) have exceeded its total for the whole of 2024.
It also marks a 20.3 per cent increase from the previous six months, GWM said, without sharing the actual figures.
This reinforces its position as a key player and underscores the brand's growing influence among automotive players in Malaysia, the company added.
GWM claimed that it remains firmly within the top three Chinese automotive brands in the country, a position strengthened by its expanding retail footprint and a compelling line-up of new energy vehicles tailored for the Malaysian market.
By staying attuned to local needs and evolving market trends, GWM said it continues to deliver meaningful growth in a competitive automotive landscape.
GWM chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah said this is not just about numbers, it's about momentum and meaning.
"Our growth shows that Malaysians are embracing our vision of cars that combine innovation, value, and relevance to their everyday lives," he added.
Roslan also said the company's first-half performance reflects the strength of its product portfolio and growing recognition of GWM as a serious automotive player in Malaysia.
Spearheaded by the Haval H6 HEV, GWM claimed it has emerged as a leading hybrid choice for Malaysian drivers.
It added that rather than engaging in price-driven competition, the company focuses on delivering safety, innovation, and a premium driving experience.
Beyond product success, GWM said it is also strengthening its nationwide footprint.
The brand has expanded its network from 18 outlets in early 2024 to 26 by mid-2025, with plans to reach 35 outlets by year-end.
In 2H25, GWM will broaden its portfolio with two new additions aimed at expanding its presence in the premium and performance segments.
