Pat Cummins comes clean after hilarious fail with Jeremy Clarkson before WTC final

Pat Cummins has had to out-think some of the world's greatest cricketers enroute to 294 Test wickets – but he's met his match in the form of a manual farm vehicle. Ahead of the World Test Championship against South Africa at Lord's, starting Wednesday, the Australia captain visited Didley Squat, the farm made famous by Jeremy Clarkson's popular Prime Video Series Clarkson's Farm. Cummins – a Prime Video ambassador - played cricket against Clarkson and co-stars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland, sampled the homegrown Hawkstone Lager and was brought up to speed with the farm's project to grow willow trees to turn into cricket bats. The Aussie skipper, who owns a farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW, looked right at home until he was asked to park a manual tractor. "It was great. I'm a big fan of Clarkson's Farm on Prime Video, so it was great to go out for a visit and have Jeremy show me the farm and play a little cricket and tried their beer," Cummins told Yahoo Australia. "It's a beautiful part of the country and great to see in person. "It all went well until they put us on this dolly trailer, which is this notoriously hard kind of trailer to try and park. I tried it for 10 minutes and just gave up. I thought I'm never getting this thing in, so I'm not even going to bother trying. "The life of a farmer is just as chaotic as you see on the show, and I was very impressed with Charlie's idea to grow English cricket bat willow. Thanks to Jeremy and the team for hosting me.' Clarkson has previously discussed his dislike for cricket but is slowly coming around after realising he can make a dollar from it. The show's star said: 'I've never been a fan of cricket. I always had too much hay fever to know what was going on, but at least now I've found a way to make some money out of it. We enjoyed showing Pat around Diddly Squat Farm." Prime Video is the first-stop entertainment destination covering Amazon original content like Clarkson's Farm, ICC Cricket and NBA. The World Test Championship final (July 11-15) will be shown on Prime Video from 7.30pm (AEST).

Aldi apologises to customers as 'do not eat' warning and recall issued

Aldi shoppers have been given a 'do not eat' warning as the supermarket issued a recall on one of its products. Aldi's Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter have been recalled due to undeclared ingredients. The potatoes contain milk not mentioned on the label making them a 'possible health risk' for anyone with an allergy to milk or milk constituents. The affected products have a best before date of April 12, 2025. 'Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. 'We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.' A spokesman for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) added: 'Aldi is recalling the above product and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. 'Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. 'These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.

Josh Barrie On the Sauce at Seed Library: You won't be lost for words, unfortunately

What's this boozeless breezer missing? I feel like it needs zhuzhing. Er, maybe rare breed sheep? Ah yes, of course, how unbelievably stupid of me to not realise. It is inspired by Orkney after all. One or two drinks on the Seed Library menu read like gags from Andy Zaltzman, the sometime comedian and longtime cricket fanatic who has mad hair and whose wordplay is madder still. Ingredients such as 'century beans' and 'quince ripened in a bed of microbes' are flung about the place like so many marbles. Listen to the Cloud Sour: 'Botanist gin, fluffy citrus, faux gras koj'. When cream is used, it's 'really good cream'; some guests might encounter beeswax, others whey. Look out for 'nitro grapes' and 'native tropical garum'. I saw one drinker sit down to a Salad. That is to say, a concoction made with gin, lettuce, herbes de Provence and red apple soda. What else? This Brutalist basement bar below One Hundred Shoreditch — haven to influencers and people who launch interesting zines — is the work of Mr Lyan, who has more awards than my word count may allow. That is to say, there's genius at play. His cocktails are wizard-like and masterful, careful, zealous creations pertaining to all manner of exotic moments and adventure. Though these are more readily found at his other place, Lyaness, on the South Bank, which is said to be one of the best bars in the world. Test that for yourself. Seed Library feels neither here nor there. I think he needs to either pare it back and focus on being a really good cocktail bar, possibly with some jazz and comfier seats, or double down and go bananas, with drinks shooting off into space. At Seed Library, the vibe is less rambunctious, a little more 'classic night out'. And if I want a classic Hemingway Daiquiri, I'd like it simple and well-made; for it to turn up as quickly as possible and to a soundtrack that isn't upsetting. No explanations, please, and you can hold the sheep. 100 Shoreditch High Street, E1 6JQ. Drinks from £15, Hawkstone Lager From £17 for six, Seeing more of Jeremy Clarkson's Hawkstone lager about? That's because he gave away 1,000 free kegs (some cider too) to pubs this month. Clarkson launched his own boozer, the Farmer's Dog, last year, and said his beer brand is what's keeping it in the black. And yes, it's good PR. It's also true that Hawkstone happens to be the dog's bollocks. Cheers, Clarkson. Marjorie's 26 Foubert's Place, W1, @ Any new French-leaning wine bar offers promise. This one, Marjorie's, comes from hospitality debutants Michael Searle and Josh Anderson, with head chef Giacomo Peretti (ex-Culpeper and others) fronting the food. Escargot, crab tarts, steak — that sort of thing. It all sounds like a distinctly laid-back affair, with 50 seats tucked away across two floors in what was a poke restaurant off Carnaby Street.

Jeremy Clarkson fans rush to defend him over gesture to struggling pubs

Jeremy Clarkson has been praised for his decision to give away 1,000 free kegs of his beer to struggling pubs. The 64-year-old has done this to aid landlords that are clinging on in this increasingly difficult financial time, to the adoration of publicans across the land. He will give away 89,000 pints of his Hawkstone lager and cider, made from his very own Cotswolds farm crops. Read more: Gtech knocks £100 off 'phenomenal' cordless vacuum 'worthy of a six-star rating' The news was welcomed by one landlord, though he admitted it would do little to "turn the fortunes" of pubs that are already on their knees. Speaking to The Sun, they explained: '89 pints isn't going to turn the fortunes of a struggling pub or restaurant. The gesture is a really kind one from Mr Clarkson. Hawkstone's a fantastic beer and I genuinely like the guy, but I think he's missing the mark a little.' The announcement was made in a video on social media with the caption: "Calling all pubs! Click the link in our bio to apply for a keg of award-winning Hawkstone Lager or Cider on us! Jeremy knows how hard it can be to run a pub, so we want to make it easier. In support of British pubs, we're giving away 1,000 free kegs." To date, Jeremy has reportedly spent £1,000,000 bringing his pub, The Farmer's Dog, to life in August after first being season in the last season of Clarkson's Farm. While the Grand Tour star has seen Diddly Squat farm and shop go from strength-to-strength, council blockages and all, he still understands the hardship facing farmers and publicans. Taking to Instagram last year, he said: "Welcome to The Farmer's Dog, it's a pub I've had for about six months now, and I've worked out it is a brilliant way of turning £100 into about £94 using nothing but costings. The only thing that is saving me from financial ruin is the fact that we serve Hawkstone lager and Hawkstone cider. "If you've got a pub and if you want to see if this strategy works for you as well, get in touch with us at our website, and if we like the sound of your pub, if it is the kind of place we want to be in, we'll send you a free keg. 88 pints of Hawkstone lager or cider for nothing."
