Natalie Portman Says She's Open to Returning as Padmé in STAR WARS — GeekTyrant

While promoting her latest project, the Natalie Portman was asked if she'd ever consider stepping back into the role of Padmé Amidala in a future Star Wars project. She responded; 'Nobody's asked me, but I'm open to everything, you know. Life's only fun if you're open to every possibility.' That's a pretty big maybe, but given recent Star Wars trends, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Over the last few years, Lucasfilm has embraced the prequel-era nostalgia that many fans grew up with. Ewan McGregor returned as Obi-Wan in his own Disney+ series, and Hayden Christensen suited back up as Anakin/Darth Vader in both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka . With both actors back in the fold, Padmé is the only major piece of the trio still missing. Portman's last appearance in the Star Wars saga was in 2005's Revenge of the Sith , which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and has grown in appreciation over time, now boasting an 80% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest of the prequels. The film, directed by George Lucas, saw Padmé's tragic death after giving birth to Luke and Leia, seemingly closing the book on her character. But when has death ever truly stopped anyone from returning in Star Wars ? Between Force ghosts, flashbacks, and cloning the door is definitely cracked open. It was rumored that she might be reprising her role in Ahsoka Season 2. It was reported that 'Filoni is really trying hard to get this one character back. I don't think it's a signed deal yet, but it's close, and it looks like, in Ahsoka , returning could be one Natalie Portman.' But, if Portman is to be beileved that no one asked her, then we shouldn't expect to see her in the series. But it would be cool to see her return in some way at some point.

Natalie Portman flaunts her skinny figure in strapless red minidress… after bikini day with mystery man

Natalie Portman looked positively radiant as she headed inside the Ed Sullivan Theater in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday - four days after cliff diving at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cannes with a mystery man. The 43-year-old Oscar winner slipped her slim 5ft3in figure into a striking red minidress, which her stylist Ryan Hastings tugged at as she emerged from a black SUV. The strapless number featured a bustier top, exaggerated hips, and a clustered hemline - which Natalie (born Neta-Lee Hershlag) paired with matching Jimmy Choo stilettos. Portman's dress was most likely Dior considering she's been a brand ambassador for the French fashion house since 2010. Hairstylist Philippe Mensah blew out the Israeli-born, Long Island-raised stunner's middle-parted brunette bob and make-up artist Miwoo Kim brought out her natural beauty. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop Wednesday marked Natalie's second time appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and, this time, she revealed what she has stolen off movie sets. 'I took the lighter from Jackie. It was monogrammed,' Portman confessed. 'I took one of Anakin's (Hayden Christensen) braids from Star Wars. He had that clip-on and there were like 30 of them, because he had to have a new one, a freshy.' When the 61-year-old host asked if director George Lucas was aware, the former child star replied: 'No, but I lost it. So I can't give it back.' Natalie was promoting her role as museum curator Charlotte Purdue in Guy Ritchie's adventure heist film Fountain of Youth, which premieres this Friday on Apple TV+. In it, Portman's character must team up with her estranged big brother Luke (John Krasinski) to discover the legendary Fountain of Youth, which could grant them immortality. Stanley Tucci, Domhnall Gleeson, and Eiza González also star in the Fountain of Youth. The Lady in the Lake producer-star will voice a mystery character in Phil Johnston's animated remake of Roald Dahl's The Twits - premiering later this year on Netflix - alongside Margo Martindale, Johnny Vegas, and Emilia Clarke. Natalie's other upcoming projects include Lena Dunham's rom-com Good Sex for Netflix, Cathy Yan's Miami-set film The Gallerist, and she's producing Ugo Bienvenu's animated sci-fi flick Arco. When the 61-year-old host asked if director George Lucas was aware, the former child star replied: 'No, but I lost it. So I can't give it back' On June 9, Portman will celebrate her 44th birthday immediately followed by the 14th birthday of her son Aleph on June 17. The Angel City FC investor also welcomed eight-year-old daughter Amalia during her 11-year marriage to Paris/L.A. Dance Project artistic director Benjamin Millepied, and their divorce was finalized in 2024 amid cheating allegations. The 47-year-old Frenchman left his prior partner Isabella Boylston back in 2009 in order to start a relationship with Natalie after choreographing and co-starring with her in Darren Aranofsky's ballet drama Black Swan.

Natalie Portman 'lost' an iconic prop she took from the Star Wars set

Natalie Portman has "lost" one of Anakin Skywalker's braids from 'Star Wars'. The 43-year-old actress - who rose to fame as Padme Amidala in the space saga's prequel trilogy between 1999 and 2005 - has revealed she took a piece of hair belonging to co-star Hayden Christensen when filming wrapped on 'Episode III - Revenge of the Sith' as a souvenir two decades ago, but she has no idea where it is anymore. During an interview on Tuesday (20.05.25) with UK TV show 'This Morning' on ITV, she said: "I took one of the Anakin braids at the end of shooting... "They were all clip-on things, and there were many of them obviously, because they had to do it every day. "So, I took one them - but I don;t have it anymore. I lost it... I shiuldn't even have admitted that!" Natalie also confirmed she would gladly return to the 'Star Wars' - which is still expanding on Disney+ and the big screen - although there have been no talks yet. She added: "Sure! No one's asked me, so I don't wanna start any rumours! I'm open to all of it, yeah!" Natalie - who has son Aleph, 13, and daughter Amalia, eight, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied - admitted her children are the "main" inspiration behind any projects she takes on at this stage of her career. She said: "Oh, one hundred percent! It's a main, main driver of my decisions." That's true of her latest movie 'Fountain of Youth', and she's excited for her kids to be able to watch one of her films - even if they're not always "interested" in seeing her on screen. She quipped: "They're not actually that interested in seeing stuff that I've made. I think it's a little weird for them to have mom be someone else too. "And also, I haven't had that many experiences because not many of the films I've been in have been appropriate!"

Shock reason Ryan Phillippe lost 'dream role' in Star Wars prequels

Ryan Phillippe is still wistful over losing his 'dream role' in the Star Wars prequels 25 years ago. Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones might have been released in the year 2002, but the 50-year-old actor was 27 when he auditioned to play Anakin Skywalker just two years earlier. The problem was that future Darth Vader was supposed to be 19, so director George Lucas wound up casting 19-year-old Hayden Christensen to play the love interest of 19-year-old Natalie Portman 's Padmé. 'Being a kid born in the seventies, I was like, "What a dream that would've been,"' Ryan (born Matthew) lamented on the Just for Variety podcast Monday. 'But I think things happen for a reason and it's easy to make peace with that. Part of what we have to develop as actors is that thick skin that comes along with rejection or maybe things not going the way you wanted in a particular project or potential job. 'So there's an element of being able to let go and release and not spend too much time thinking about those things.' Phillippe wasn't alone as Hayden scored the plum part over Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Klein, Devon Sawa, Charlie Hunnam, Topher Grace, Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek, Colin Hanks, and Paul Walker. In 2002, Portman recalled to TIME that Christensen 'gave a great reading. He could simultaneously be scary and really young.' 'I used to be the 25-year-old on set or the 22-year-old on set, and I am definitely not now,' the two-time SAG Award winner told Variety. 'It's just so humbling. Even if you take care of yourself, which a lot of people in our industry do, right? You exercise and all of this, it's still — you wake up with a soreness that's just randomly materialized out of nowhere that you can't trace back to anything you did. 'It's just there, and you got to deal with it. You know that the inevitable breakdown is something hard to reconcile, I think, for all of us.' Ryan next portrays struggling mechanic Logan Maddox in John A. Norris' 10-episode coming-of-age drama Motorheads, which premieres May 20 on Amazon Prime Video. The Pennsylvania-set series also features Nathalie Kelley, Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, and Nicolas Cantu. 'I felt like Yoda, they would all come to me with questions about what the old days were like,' Phillippe recalled. 'If they had questions about the industry or about upcoming decisions that they were making about project, I would be a sounding board. I have had a lot of experience.' The Prey producer-star's 21-year-old nepo baby Deacon scored the part of his onscreen brother Christian in Motorheads flashbacks. 'Our kids grew up on sets,' Ryan explained. 'They grew up around the industry. But he's a musician first and foremost. He's at NYU at the music school, and I think he's just one of those who's taking the opportunities as they come. 'I don't think he wants or needs to define himself just yet. He never came to me and said, 'Dad, I want to be an actor.' I think it's something he's still figuring out and exploring.' Phillippe is evidently not close to his 25-year-old daughter Ava, whom he also welcomed during his seven-year marriage to former Cruel Intentions leading lady Reese Witherspoon that ended in 2007. 'Ava is estranged from her dad by choice,' a source told on April 13. 'She has no contact with him and rarely mentions him. Ryan hasn't been a present father figure in her life for years.' Ryan is evidently not close to his 25-year-old daughter Ava (L, pictured Sunday), whom he also welcomed during his seven-year marriage to former Cruel Intentions leading lady Reese Witherspoon (R) that ended in 2007 The insider added: 'Things really soured in 2018 around the time he was accused of abuse by his ex. Her issue with Ryan is his treatment of women, which she finds appalling.' In 2017, the Delaware-born blond's ex-flame Elsie Hewitt sued him for $1M over alleged abuse and his former fiancée Paulina Slagter accused him of harassment. Ryan denied all of the allegations and Elsie's lawsuit was reportedly settled for an undisclosed amount in 2019 just days before they were set to go to trial. Phillippe is also father to 13-year-old daughter Kailani 'Kai' Merizalde from his five-month fling with Pitch Perfect alum Alexis Knapp back in 2010.
