Ministers inspect medical camps under Nalam Kakkum Stalin scheme in Salem and Namakkal
Tourism Minister R. Rajendran and Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister M. Mathiventhan inspected the special medical camps under the Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme conducted in Salem and Namakkal districts respectively on Saturday (August 2, 2025).
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the special camps under the scheme across the State through video conferencing on Saturday. Following this, Mr. Rajendran inspected the medical camp held at Kamarajar Girls Higher Secondary School at Manakkadu in Salem.
Speaking to the reporters, the Tourism Minister said the camp provides various check-ups, including blood check-ups and ECG, free of cost. Seventeen specialists from various departments offered their services. Check-ups for echocardiogram, X-rays, and ultrasound scans recommended for people by doctors were also conducted in the camp.
Likewise, the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Card and medical certificates were provided for the differently-abled. In Salem, three medical camps will be conducted for each block and a total 60 camps will be conducted in 20 blocks. In Salem Corporation, these camps will be conducted in four places, the Minister added.
Mr. Rajendran distributed welfare assistance worth ₹1.25 lakh to the differently-abled in the presence of District Collector R. Brindha Devi, MPs T.M. Selvaganapathi and S.R. Sivalingam, MLA R. Arul, Mayor A. Ramachandran and officials from departments concerned.
In Namakkal district, Mr. Mathiventhan inspected the medical camp held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Mohanur along with District Collector Durgamoorthi, MPs KRN. Rajeshkumar, V.S. Matheswaran and MLA P. Ramalingam. The Minister said that 45 medical camps will be conducted under the Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme in 15 blocks in Namakkal.
