Earth Day events in the Lowcountry
SOUTH CAROLINA (WSAV) — Tuesday, April 22, is Earth Day and several places in the Lowcountry will commemorate the annual day of conservation throughout the week. Here is a list of Lowcountry Earth Day events: Earth Day Wellness: Free Lunch & Lecture at the YMCA Local health educator Martha Kester presents 'Facts, Not Fads: Busting Health Myths', a lecture designed to separate truth from trend when it comes to healthy living. The event will be held at the Wardle Family YMCA, located on 1801 Richmond Ave in Port Royal. Lunch will be served at 12:50 p.m., and the lecture begins at 1:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. donations are welcome and appreciated. Beaufort Litter Patrol x Grounded Running Join the community to clean up litter at the Spanish Moss Trail on Roseida Rd. lot, 1003 Hodge Drive. The clean-up starts at 5:45 p.m., focusing on the adopted section of the trail. A welcome and reception will be held 15 minutes prior. Around 6:30–6:45 p.m., the group will gather again to drop off supplies and weigh the collected trash. After the cleanup, Grounded Running will be grilling burgers, and there will be refreshing lemon cucumber water on hand. Click here to learn more. 2025 Sun City Earth Day Event Join the Citizen's Climate Lobby's Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 26, by recycling lithium-ion batteries and helping to reach their annual goal of recycling 100GHw of battery materials. The gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pickney Hall, located on 114 Sun City Lane.
