IHCL portfolio to cross 550 hotels with 55,000 rooms post acquisitions
Tata Group-owned IHCL on Tuesday said its hotel portfolio is set to cross 550 properties with 55,000 rooms after the country's largest hospitality firm signed definitive agreements to acquire a controlling stake in ANK Hotels and Pride Hospitality . IHCL's midscale hotel chain brand Ginger Hotels covers the mid-market segment. On Monday, IHCL had informed in a regulatory filing that a committee constituted by its board has approved and executed agreements to acquire about 51 per cent stake each in two entities -- ANK Hotels and Pride Hospitality -- which have a portfolio of 135 hotels operated under 'The Clarks Hotels & Resorts' brand. Live Events The transactions amounting to up to Rs 204 crore will be executed via cash consideration and are expected to be completed by November 15, 2025. The share subscription and purchase agreements and shareholders' agreements were executed to acquire about 51 per cent equity stake for an amount not exceeding Rs 110 crore in ANK Hotels Pvt Ltd, and Rs 94 crore in Pride Hospitality Pvt Ltd, according to a regulatory filing. "With many decades of hospitality experience, the promoters of these companies belong to the illustrious Clarks Hotels family. This takes IHCL's portfolio to over 550 hotels," IHCL said. According to Chhatwal, the outlook for the hospitality sector remains buoyant as demand outpaces supply and India continues to be an underserved hospitality market, especially in the mid-market segment. "Our partnership with ANK, Pride and Brij Hospitality is a multi-pronged approach addressing India's heterogeneous market landscape and is in line with IHCL's five-year road map 'Accelerate 2030' of unlocking India's tourism potential," Chhatwal stated. ANK Hotels Pvt Ltd and Pride Hospitality Pvt Ltd have a portfolio of 135 hotels in the midscale segment spread across 110 locations and are presently operated under The Clarks Hotels & Resorts, which over the next few months will be integrated operationally and migrated to IHCL's brandscape predominantly under the Ginger brand, among others. These hotels are on a capital-light arrangement of management contracts and select operating leases. Brij Hospitality has a portfolio of 19 hotels in the experiential leisure segment in India's unique destinations.

Amplifon Slumps Most Ever on Revenue Miss, Guidance Cut
Hearing-aid specialist Amplifon SpA slid as much as 27% for its biggest intraday loss on record after reporting worse-than-expected quarterly results and cutting guidance. The Italian company now expects revenue to grow around 3% in 2025 at constant exchange rates, versus the previous forecast for a percentage rise in the mid-to-high single digits, it said late Tuesday. Organic revenue dropped 1.7% in the second quarter, missing the 3.3% gain expected by analysts.

911 Call Triggers Investigation Into WWE Legend Hulk Hogan's Sudden Passing

The WWE legend, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died at 71 in a hospital. Now, police are looking into what happened and doing a thorough investigation in the case. Emergency call sparks police investigation At 9:51 AM, the emergency team got a 911 call about a heart emergency at a house on El Dorado Avenue. They got to the scene quickly and found Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, in cardiac arrest. Medics worked on him for about 30 minutes and were still working on him at 10:28 AM as they were getting ready to load him into an ambulance. Despite their efforts they rushed him to Morton Plant Hospital, where he passed away at 11:17 AM. Kowdiar land grab case: Police arrest brother of key accused
T'puram: Museum police probing the Kowdiar land grab case arrested the brother of the key accused after discovering that an amount was paid to the treasury for property registration using his vendor licence. Mahesh C A, 47, son of Chandrasekharan Nair of Ganapathy Bhadra House at MR Hills near Puthancotta at Attukal, was arrested after it was found that Rs 14 lakh was paid to the treasury using his vendor licence to buy e-stamp and also as a registration fee. Meanwhile, a lookout notice was issued against the key accused, Ananthapuri Manikantan, who is absconding. He was the district committee member of the Congress party and also a vendor. The district leadership suspended him from the party on Monday following his involvement in the fraud. By forging the documents, the accused snatched a land at Kowdiar, and sold it later to Sasthamangalam native Chandrasenan, 60. The actual owner of the property, Dora Asariya Crips, is settled in America. In her absence, Karakulam native Vasantha, 76, posed as Dora and registered the land to Merin, 27, of Punalur. Merin, Vasantha and Mahesh have been arrested so far in the case. They claimed that they acted as per the direction of Manikantan. "Except for paying the amount in the treasury, no payment was made between Chandrasenan and Merin or any of the accused. Chandrasenan is also not cooperating with the probe as he has not presented the original deed of the document but he still claims that the money was paid. He failed to produce any proof to substantiate the claim. Only after arresting Manikantan clear picture of the fraud will be known, and we have intensified the search for him," police said. Meanwhile, the sessions court rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of Manikantan but granted bail to Chandrasenan considering his age.
