Kelly Brook opens up on the extent of her London Marathon injury and reveals she's 'in a boot for six weeks' with a stress fracture
Kelly Brook has opened up on the extent of her London Marathon injury and revealed she's going to be 'in a boot for the next six weeks' with a stress fracture. The TV personality, 45, ran the marathon last month alongside her husband, Jeremy Parisi, whom she married in 2022. However, just days after completing the gruelling 26.2 mile race, Kelly explained that she knew something wasn't right with her foot. Speaking on her Heart Drive show at the time, she recalled: 'I went for a post-marathon scan on my foot today. 'I've been following Jenni Falconer who also ran the London Marathon. She's all strapped up in a boot, someone stamped on her foot and cracked a bone. 'My foot looked a bit like hers' so I sent her a picture and she said 'go get an X-ray!' Well, I've walked to three to be told I've got a broken foot. I was like I could have told you that at hospital number one!' Kelly Brook has opened up on the extent of her London Marathon injury and revealed she's going to be 'in a boot for six weeks' with a stress fracture (pictured crossing the finish line) What is a stress fracture? Stress fractures are small breaks to a bone and according to the NHS, the most common stress fracture seen in the Emergency Department is in the foot. They are often caused from overuse such as repeatedly jumping up and down or running long distances. These fractures can also result from increasing activity too quickly or doing the same activity lots of times. She continued: 'I cannot believe the ordeal! What time is it now? Four-thirty. I set off at nine o'clock this morning, I'm not joking!' '[Someone] wheeled me out to the road and then just off loaded me and I had to hobble across the road to another hospital who then didn't have an MRI. Oh, it's been a whole ordeal! The only thing they did wheel me to is a cashier so I could pay for it!' Kelly clarified: 'It seems that I've got a stress fracture which is quite common with first time marathon runners because we don't know what we're doing. So, I'm in a boot and it looks like I'll be in a boot for six weeks. But I've got a medal! 'I heard a crack, and I thought I don't know if that is a blister popping or if that is a bone, let's not think about it, let's just keep going!' Stress fractures are small breaks to a bone and according to the NHS, the most common stress fracture seen in the Emergency Department is in the foot. Despite her injury, Kelly has been continuing with work and even shared a snap of her boot on the desk with a pair of sunglasses on it, joking 'she's cute'. And on Wednesday, the producer of her Heart show, Will, shared an insight into just how much she's been struggling. Posting to Instagram, he shared a clip of Kelly walking down the corridoor in her boot, as he jokingly quipped: 'After one marathon and one particularly brittle tortilla chip, @iamkb is still going strong.' Reposting to her own story, Kelly joined in with the joke as she added: 'I thought I'd just hop on here because I don't think the video that Will the producer took of me is a true representation of who I really am.' And on Wednesday, the producer of her Heart show, Will, shared an insight into just how much she's been struggling The radio star wrote in her caption: 'It's been a week,' before producer Will went on to do an impression of her. Kelly laughed: 'This is supposed to be me. I have to lift my leg up cause i dont have the strength to put it up myself.' It comes after Kelly revealed the gruelling injuries she suffered while training for the marathon. Speaking to The Sun, Kelly revealed she's stocked up on tubs of Vaseline after finding herself bleeding during training. She said: 'I have gone through pots of Vaseline and on Sunday I was away. I was tapering and had a quick 10k to do. 'I panicked because I left my Vaseline at home so I went without. Nothing prepares you for the chaffing! I was bleeding after 10k.' The former Page 3 model also recently admitted it's been 'challenging' training with her husband Jeremy. She joked he 'has been like her carer' when it comes to running in recent months. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Kelly - who has been working with Slimfast - said running with Jeremy can also become quite competitive and challenging for her. She said: 'In terms of training and doing things together on a physical level, that is a bit more challenging because he's super competitive and he's very fit and sometimes when he comes out on a run with me, it's like he's my carer! 'He's there giving me electrolytes, giving me another energy gel, he's there walking and I'm there shuffling thinking I'm running! It's harder for him. 'I don't want to be like that, I want to feel on par with him. I feel like I've let my fitness go a bit. 'This is why I'm a bit more of an advocate now and getting out and going for a run because I hadn't done it for years.' While Kelly continues to strive to get her fitness on par with her husband's, she noted how running has vastly improved her mental health. 'Running gave me clarity and there was a whole different approach to everything I would do, I was so much more in control' she explained. 'I feel like the exercise has really helped with my mental health actually. More so than I thought.' She added: 'We are having a bit of a lifestyle overhaul at the moment, which is amazing. We've just bought our house, we've been renting this for the last two years but we've now bought it so there's going to be decorating and doing lots of fun stuff. 'So I feel like we're going into a chapter of our life where as we get older, we just want to be healthier.... my husband turns 40 this year. I just feel like we're in a really good dynamic at the moment.' Kelly also told how women put 'too much pressure' on themselves to lose weight. The radio host went from a size 12 to 16 in 2018 after moving back to the UK from LA but dropped the weight with the help of SlimFast for which she is a brand ambassador. Elsewhere in the interview, Kelly encouraged women not to stress too much about looking a certain way, especially in the eyes of their partners, as she noted that for the most part, men don't even 'notice' the body hang-ups that women do. In a candid and open chat about weight loss, healthy living and body confidence, the star - who has maintained her weight with the assistance of SlimFast - said: 'We put so much pressure on ourselves, sometimes it doesn't even come from our other halves.

Kelly Brook in hospital 'ordeal' over painful injury after London Marathon
London Marathon runner Kelly Brook has announced that she's been at hospital over an injury following the long-distance race that she took part in with her husband Jeremy Parisi Radio host Kelly Brook has announced that she ended up in hospital after running the London Marathon on the weekend. Alongside her husband Jeremy Parisi, she was among the celebrities who took part in the annual event. Kelly, 45, was one of the runners in the long-distance race on Sunday, with her having completed it in just over six and half hours. The Loose Women panellist - who had kept fans updated on her training - said in a post on Instagram after the marathon in London that she was "sore but happy". The Heart Radio presenter has since announced that she's been diagnosed with a stress fracture on her foot. The NHS describes those fractures as "tiny cracks in the bone caused by overuse". Kelly - who previously shared that she hadn't ever ran more than 5k until last month - said they are "quite common" for people running a marathon for the first time. Kelly, who is now wearing a medical boot on her foot, spoke about having broken her foot on her Heart Drive show this afternoon. She shared on the radio station that she could be wearing the recovery boot for up to six weeks now. She said: "I went for a post-marathon scan on my foot today. I've been following Jenni Falconer who also ran the London Marathon." Kelly added: "She's all strapped up in a boot, someone stamped on her foot and cracked a bone." Kelly continued: "My foot looked a bit like hers' so I sent her a picture and she said 'go get an X-ray!' Well, I've walked to three hospitals to be told I've got a broken foot. I was like I could have told you that at hospital number one!" She added: "I cannot believe the ordeal! What time is it now? Four-thirty. I set off at nine o'clock this morning, I'm not joking!" The former Celebrity Race Across the World contestant suggested in the discussion that she visited several hospitals, including one that didn't have an MRI to assess her apparent injury. Kelly is quoted as having said: "[Someone] wheeled me out to the road and then just off loaded me and I had to hobble across the road to another hospital who then didn't have an MRI. Oh, it's been a whole ordeal! The only thing they did wheel me to is a cashier so I could pay for it!" She also said: "It seems that I've got a stress fracture which is quite common with first time marathon runners because we don't know what we're doing. So, I'm in a boot and it looks like I'll be in a boot for six weeks. But I've got a medal!" Kelly has showcased her medal in a selfie with her husband Jeremy, 39, who also received one after completing the marathon, on social media recently. She's also shared photos of the boot that she's now wearing following the injury. Speaking about the injury, Kelly also teased on the radio show that she "heard a crack" at one point. She said: "I heard a crack, and I thought I don't know if that is a blister popping or if that is a bone, let's not think about it, let's just keep going!" Kelly Brook reveals painful London Marathon injury after being ‘wheeled' to hospital
KELLY Brook has revealed she was wheeled to hospital with a painful injury after finishing the London Marathon. The radio star, 45, ran the famous 26.2 mile route alongside her husband Jeremy Parisi, 39, and proudly showed off her medal after crossing the finish line. 4 But the event took its toll and, today, Kelly spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong with her sore foot. Speaking on her Heart Drive show, she said: "I went for a post-marathon scan on my foot today. "I've been following Jenni Falconer who also ran the London Marathon at the weekend, she's all strapped up in a boot, someone stamped on her foot and cracked a bone. "I was like I could have told you that at hospital number one!" Kelly showed off her moonboot, placing it on the Heart desk and accessorising it with a pair of sunglasses. I was tapering and had a quick 10k to do. 'I panicked because I left my Vaseline at home so I went without. Nothing prepares you for the chaffing! I was bleeding after 10k." Having done an increasing number of physically exerting challenges with Jeremy, the London Marathon felt like the ideal next step for the couple. She said: "We were both pretty strong anyway but this has definitely made us more dynamic. "After a 25km run you feel invincible. We love to train hard and keep that up all year. "When we did Race Across the World we had to climb a volcano in the snow for the final Episode. 4 4 "We had spent Christmas in the Alps hiking mountains in the snow so we were weirdly prepared mentally to tackle that! "We train a lot just to prepare ourselves for life in general you never know in our job what you're going to be asked to do next. " "This has been brilliant because we are in control of our training and performance. With TV it's never entirely down to you what the outcome will be. "With the Marathon it's all on us and it's exciting we can't wait."
