Travis Kelce Says He Was a Kid 'Heavyweight': 'I Was Dealing with My Love for Honey Buns'
Travis Kelce is getting candid about his childhood weakness. On the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, released Wednesday, March 19, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, and his brother Jason spoke to actor Ben Stiller about his 1995 movie Heavyweights. The film tells the story of overweight children being lured into a fitness camp that is being run by a 'psycho ex-fitness instructor," per the movie description. 'I was a heavyweight growing up," Travis told Stiller, adding, "Jason, he didn't get fat until he went to office. We switched places growing up. So Jason is more newly founded into it.' "So seriously, you were dealing with weight issues?' Stiller asked the brothers, to which Jason, 37, replied of his brother, 'He was chubby, I wouldn't say he was fat.' Travis then admitted what may be behind his childhood weight gain. 'I think I was dealing with my love for honey buns," the NFL star laughed. 'That's what I was kinda dealing with more,' he continued, admitting he'd have loved to attend a camp like the one in the movie. "I saw Heavyweights and was like, 'Oh, man. If there's a camp out there like that, I wanna go to it.' " 'Just kids that can be fat together and hide candy in their beds," Travis quipped. He then hinted that the movie's plot mirrored his own experience of being the younger brother, adding, "Kids that never really lived up to the excellence of their brother and just the expectations that their parents set for themselves." 'I just don't think that's getting off the drawing board these days,' Stiller said. Disney's ‘Heavyweights' Cast: Where Are They Now? Ben Stiller, Kenan Thompson and More
Before Kenan Thompson and Judd Apatow were household names — and Ben Stiller was still on the rise — they teamed up for 1995's Heavyweights. The Disney big-screen comedy about youngsters at a 'weight loss camp' and the manic fitness guru Tony Perkis (Stiller) who takes over has since become a cult classic. 'Somehow, I don't think this will be at the head of the Disney+ queue ever. In fact, I'm not sure they are aware they made it,' Stiller wrote via X in February 2025 while honoring the film's 30th Anniversary. 'But that was an incredibly fun summer in North Carolina 30 years ago. #Heavyweights.' Thompson, who played one of the campers, also reflected on its staying power via Instagram. 'The history books will say this squad instilled a level of fear not yet known to man, and certainly not to @benstiller,' he teased in February 2025. 'THIRTY YEARS of #Heavyweights and it still feels like just yesterday I was packing up for camp. What a time!!!' Scroll down to see what the Heavyweights cast is doing now:

Ben Stiller knew he had to quit 'Saturday Night Live' after four episodes
Ben Stiller knew he had to walk away from "Saturday Night Live" after just four episodes. "I just knew that I wasn't a great live performer," the comedian told The Hollywood Reporter. "It got me nervous," he explained. "I get stressed out even thinking about it, and making movies is the opposite of that. You get to do it over and over again." Bob Odenkirk, who also worked on the variety show at the time, thought this move was unthinkable. "He was ballsy as h--- to walk away from 'SNL' and to be able to say with confidence about himself and his career, 'This isn't going to work for me. I have to leave here,'" Odenkirk told the outlet. After quitting "Saturday Night Live," Stiller was given the opportunity to continue sketch comedy – just not live. "The Ben Stiller Show" first aired on MTV and later on Fox. Afterward, he landed roles in "Reality Bites," "Heavyweights" and Jim Carrey's "The Cable Guy." Stiller's big break came with a role in "There's Something About Mary." Since then, the actor has starred in huge productions, including "Meet the Parents," "Zoolander," "Along Came Polly," "Starsky & Hutch," "Night at the Museum" and "Tropic Thunder." Stiller's acting career didn't sway his kids' interest in the industry. His children, shared with actress Christine Taylor, want to be actors. Ella and Quinlin both had minor voice roles in "Madagascar." "I feel probably what my parents felt," Stiller told The Hollywood Reporter regarding his children's interest in show business. "I recognize their talent and their desire to do it, and I support it a hundred percent. And I also know it's a tough business, and as a protective parent, you don't want your kids to have to suffer the slings and arrows." "I'm glad that for all of the things that I did wrong as a parent or being too caught up in my work, it's not like they were like, 'I don't want anything to do with this,'" he added. Stiller has actually been finishing up a project featuring his own parents. The "Severance" producer was raised by Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, two actors in their own right. Stiller lost Anne in 2015 and Jerry passed away in 2020. "I'm thinking I'm going to miss working on it," Stiller said of the documentary. "I have an excuse to just sit and watch my parents all day." As for what's next, he's not quite sure. "It'd be fun to work on a story that's just like two hours," he said.
