Oscar Mbo sets Heineken House on fire with electrifying performance

But Oscar wasn't the only one setting the vibe — Heineken House brought out a line-up that read like a who's who of South African music royalty. Fans were treated to sensational sets and performances by Sir LSG and DJ Soul Diva bringing soulful deep house to life, 2woBunnies hyping the crowd with high-energy bangers, Focalistic delivering his signature 'Amapiano to the world' energy, Scotts Maphuma grooving with jazzy, feel-good beats, and Daliwonga, Nkosazana Daughter, Blxckie, K.O, Emtee and Kwesta all bringing their A-game to the stage, From smooth grooves to explosive hip-hop and everything in between, the event was a melting pot of genres and culture, all wrapped up in that signature Heineken House experience — complete with vibrant lights, bold fashion and an electric atmosphere. The success of the night also cemented the growing influence of Oscar Mbo, who continues to build his empire one beat and one thread at a time — with his much-loved music and fashion brand both gaining momentum. If this is any preview of what's to come this summer, fans can expect heatwaves — not just on the weather front, but in sound and style too.

Munaka Muthambi's exit from 'Piano Pulse': the God-given reason you didn't see coming

Nomathamsanqa Sithathu | Published 9 hours ago In a recent interview on the 'Tell Us Y' podcast with YFM, Munaka Muthambi, former co-host of the popular amapiano podcast 'Piano Pulse', shed light on her reasons for leaving the show. Her departure had sparked controversy and amusement among fans and fellow podcasters, particularly after she cited that 'God told her to leave' as the reason for her exit. Initially, Muthambi had stated that the 'Heineken House' incident and the drama with amapiano artist Sizwe Alakine, formerly known as Reason, had nothing to do with her reasons for leaving the podcast. 'My reasons have nothing to do with the whole Reason saga and our incident with Heineken; we've moved past that a long time ago,' Munaka previously stated. However, it seems that her reason for leaving has changed with time. In the recent interview, she revealed that the 'Heineken incident' did play a role in her decision to leave. The controversy surrounding the 'Heineken incident' began when Muthambi was individually invited to a 'Heineken House' event and attended without her co-hosts, Sfiso Ndlovu and Thakgi Ledwaba. This made them feel excluded, leading to tension between them as co-hosts. Muthambi explained that she attended the event as an individual invitee, and not as a representative of the podcast, which led to the disagreement. During the interview with 'Tell Us Y', Muthambi revealed that from there, she spent a month fasting and praying, seeking answers about her future on the podcast. During this time, she was uncertain about her place on the show and was grappling with the challenges she faced. A while after the tension, another incident took place in the studio when a recording of a 'Piano Pulse' episode was in session. This was when the amapiano artist stopped by at the studios to address the comments made by Ndlovu and Ledwaba about his rapper girlfriend, Gigi Lamayne. When the drama with Reason unfolded in the studio, she took it as a sign from God that it was time to leave. To her, the situation was the answer she had been seeking, and she felt that God was speaking to her, guiding her to move on. 'After the Reason situation, that was what I low-key prayed for. Not that I prayed for that to happen, but dude, when I fasted and that drama happened, I went 'ahh',' she said, emphasising that she needed a solid reason and God showed her. Muthambi's decision to leave the podcast was also influenced by her initial doubts about joining the show. She admitted that she was shaky about being a part of 'Piano Pulse' and had reservations about whether it was the right fit for her. 'It's not like I woke up and decided I wanted to leave. Literally like two months in, I was like 'Is this really for me?' Like I could feel it from the start,' she said. Her concerns were further heightened when she heard MacG, host of 'Podcast and Chill', express doubts about her ability to last on the podcast due to her brand affiliations. MacG's comments hurt her feelings, but did not surprise her. Despite her reservations, Muthambi had committed to the podcast, but the drama with Reason and the underlying tensions with her co-hosts ultimately led her to seek guidance from God. Additionally, she feels that the podcast deserves a person who is passionate and well informed about the amapiano genre. In hindsight, Muthambi's comments provide a deeper understanding of her decision to leave 'Piano Pulse', beyond the speculation and jokes that followed her departure. Her revelation that she was uncertain about joining the podcast from the start and that the drama with Reason was the final sign for her to leave sheds new light on her experience.

Inside Desert Nights: The Zenyara Estate's Exclusive Nightlife Series During Coachella 2025

Zenyara will be transformed for Festival Season CMG For more than three decades, CMG founder David Corso has been creating and producing some of the most memorable events—particularly in the Coachella Valley, where he has had roots since the Coachella's inception in 1999. He is the creative force behind the coveted Desert Nights Series, an invite-only late-night lineup that runs alongside the iconic music festival. Desert Nights is the result of more than two decades of event curation, originally starting as private industry dinners as well as pre- and post-festival parties at Corso's personal residence. For the past eight years, however, the series has found a home at the ultra-luxe Zenyara Estate. Known for its exclusivity and high production value, Desert Nights continues to evolve as a sophisticated gathering on one of the world's most famous estates. 'What makes any event special is when all the right assets come together—the venue, the crowd, the performances, and the experiential components,' says Corso. 'It's a formula that has to be just right, and when it is, the result is unforgettable.' 2025 will mark a banner year for the property, with artists performing fresh off their Coachella and Stagecoach sets. 'We are so grateful for our two-decade valued partnership with Goldenvoice/AEG, an incredible force that continues to push the boundaries of excellence year after year—elevating the festival experience and, in turn, the experiential offerings and guest expectations,' Corso tells me. 'CMG's productions at the festival this year include Heineken House and the new Red Bull Mirage featuring Nobu. Our off-site events are produced through this festival lens with a focus on experiential, creating the ultimate post-festival environment for guests, with esteemed, key partners such as Dorsia, Patron, Heineken, Red Bull, Tao Group Hospitality, and Framework.' A shot from Dessert Nights 2024 CMG Zenyara Desert Nights truly attracts the a-list. Everyone from Rihanna to Alessandra Ambrosio to Hailey Bieber has graced the grounds of Zenyara over Coachella weekends every year. Better yet, some of the biggest names in the industry—including Post Malone, Rüfüs Du Sol, Irina Shayk, Stella Maxwell, Blackpink, Idris Elba, Anthony Kiedis, Kaytranada, Skrillex, and Solomun—have performed or stopped by. This year, the series will take place over all three festival weekends in April, with the addition of Rodeo Nights, which will have more country-inspired vibes—think boots and cowboy hats. The lineup during Coachella weekend 2025 includes artists such as Bob Moses, Vintage Culture, Mau P, and WhoMadeWho, with headliner Anyma, following a sold-out run at the Las Vegas Sphere. While the Rodeo Nights weekend lineup during Stagecoach has yet to be announced, it's sure to be just as exciting. Zenyara Exterior CMG Zenyara is one of the most famous luxury estates not just in the Coachella Valley, but worldwide. Available for both long- and short-term rentals, the property can accommodate up to 24 guests, with eleven bedrooms and twelve bathrooms. It offers an impressive list of amenities, including pools, a golf course, an off-road course, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, a state-of-the-art gym, and a full spa facility. But these amenities pale in comparison to the biggest one: a jaw-dropping, white sand manmade beach. Over the top in the best of ways, it feels more Dubai and less Southern California. Next level luxury CMG Corso shares, 'The manmade beach is an incredible element to the property, and our guests love to hang out there with the gorgeous views across the lake to the main estate. The lake is a commercial agricultural reservoir that fuels the irrigation of all the date trees.' Guests are thrilled to see this feature, which is only accessible to private, invited guests. 'The Desert Nights festival series is the only time this property is open to people who are not renting it. Experiencing this estate is a bucket list item—it's one of the best estates in the world. You see this venue in the press and magazines, and it is just the ultimate paradise.' Interior of Zenyara CMG These events are also imporant to Zenyara's owner, Michael Scott. According to Corso, the production teams spend months planning every element and detail down to the square inch to ensure the venue is protected while maintaining a level of show quality that matches its luxury. 'We keep that top of mind when making choices for staging, seating, and experiential elements. How can we ensure the production elements of the show match the luxury and elevation of the venue?' Zenyara at sunset CMG But in an effort to create a one-of-a-kind experience, one of the most striking features—Zenyara's central reservoir—presented a creative challenge. 'We needed a space for VIP table seating and developed a decking mechanism that goes out over the water so that we had more floor space,' reveals Corso. Technology also plays a key role in elevating the event. Corso partnered with Dorsia for all guest access levels, which supports much-needed privacy. But ultimately, it's about creating something that artists want to be part of—and guests absolutely rave about. 'The guest list is always explosive because guests just want to experience this place, and brands are integrated with sophistication.'
