Who's in the News? Laura Freeman

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Despite some some scattered showers in the forecast, Henderson residents can still enjoy a weekend of food, music and rides as the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club Tri-Fest returns to the riverfront. The event started off at 11 a.m. on Friday with the opening of food booths and carnival rides, and will continue through Sunday at 5 p.m.. Proceeds raised during the event will be used to provide grants to local nonprofits. Henderson Tri-Fest schedule and munchie maps released 'To date, we have given away over 600,000 in grant funds,' said Laura Freeman, the Secretary for the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club. 'We're hoping that we get to give over 800,000. That's the goal right now for this year.' During an interview with Freeman, she discussed the schedule of events for the weekend in Henderson, and said the club was hopeful that the weather would clear up despite a rainy start. 'We are praying for some good weather. It always seems like we have a little bit of rain every year, so hopefully it will be just a little bit of rain on Friday and then it will be fine for the rest of the weekend.' KYTC's high water report for April 15, 2025

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) asks for people to be aware that even while water levels are slowly dropping, many roads across the district remain flood. Officials say they've noticed this morning that not all closed roads are still appearing on several of the 'popular GPS systems.' Please refer to the provided list of flooded roads if anyone is traveling in areas impacted by high water. The KYTC notes this list only includes routes that are maintained by the state, and not city and county roadways. Officials note this list is created using highway mile marker points, which are the nationwide standard to identify specific locations on state and federal roadways. Those points can be located on the KYTC general highway map, seen here. Henderson Tri-Fest schedule and munchie maps released The KYTC says high water signs have been placed at the following locations as of 12:45 p.m.: Daviess County KY 258 between the 0-1.4 mile points KY 279 between the 7.5-9 mile points from Audubon Parkway bridge to Jack Bosley Road KY 279 between the 9.8-13.7 mile points from US 60 to the Ohio River KY 298 Hill Bridge Road between the 2-3 mile points at South Fork Panther Creek KY 334 between the 0-1.8 mile points from KY 2830 to Hancock County line KY 500 between the 0.5-1 mile points at Jennings Road KY 500 at the 2.5 mile point KY 960 West 5th Street Road between the 0-1.9 mile points, entire length KY 1554 between the 3.5-4.6 along Katie Meadow Slough Hancock County US 60 at the 9.1 mile point, westbound lanes KY 334 between 0-4.8 mm between Daviess County line and Morton Lane in Lewisport KY 334 between 11.2-15.1 mile points KY 334 between the 17-19.3 mile points Henderson County U.S 60 between the 20-25 mile points KY 138 at the intersection of KY 1033 KY 136 between the 0-10 mile points KY 268 between the 1-8 mile points KY 416 between the 24-24.4 mile points KY 811 between the 0-8.7 mile points KY 3522 between the 0-0.3 mile points Hopkins County KY 85 between the 4-7 mile points towards McLean County KY 138 at KY 1033 KY 254 between the 5-5.2 mile points KY 254 and intersection of KY 260 to the McLean County line KT 258 at the 2.8 mile point by KY 593 KY 281 between the 10-16 mile points to KY 138 KY 293 between the 0-3.16 mile points at Webster County line KY 370 between the 0-1 mile points KY 862 between the 2-2.8 mile points near KY 254 KY 862 between the 2.8-5 mile points KY 892 between the 5.5-6 mile points KY 1033 between 0-2 mile points near Vandetta KY 1034 between 0-1.5 near Johnson Island Church KY 2280 between the 0-2.2 mile points McLean County KY 81 between the 2.5-11.5 mile points, which is KY 85 to Calhoun Bridge KY 85 between the 6.6-8.3 mile points, which is KY 2226 to KY 891 KY 136 between the 4.3-9.8 mile points KY 140 to KY 81 KY 136 between the 9.8-19.3 mile points KY 81 to U.S. 431 KY 138 between the 0-5.8 mile points at Hopkins-McLean line, which is Hopkins line to KY 81 KY 138 between the 5.8-14.2 mile points KY 254 between the 0-0.73 mile points from Hopkins line to Branch Schoolhouse KY 256 between the 0-2.7 mile points KY 56 to KY 797 KY 256 between the 3.8-4.9 mile points KY 256 between 5.8-10.3 mile points KY 140 to Calhoun Bridge KY 258 at the 2.8 mile point near KY 593 KY 593 between the 4.5-6.9 mile points KY 797 between the 0-2 mile points off KY 256 KY 815 between the 2.6-3.2 mile points due to erosion of the shoulder caused by flood waters and wind KY 891 between the 0-3 mile points, which is KY 85 to KY 138 KY 1046 between the 0-1.8 mile points, which is Richland Road to KY 136 KY 1155 between 4-7.7 mile points, which is KY 254 to KY 138 KY 1412 between the 0-3.3 mile points, from KY 85 to Muhlenberg County KY 1412 between the 3.5-5.5 mile points, which is KY 85 to U.S. 431 KY 1589 between 0-3 mile points, which is KY 81 to KY 138 KY 1792 between the 0-2.6 mile points, which is KY 140 to KY 136 KY 2110 between the 0-1.8 mile points, which is KY 85 to KY 138 KY 2385 between the 1.9-4.4 mile points, which is KY 1155 to KY 81 Muhlenberg County U.S. 431 at the 5 mile point – slide on Tunnel Hill KY 175 between the 22-24 mile points KY 277 between 0.9-1.2 mile points, which is closed due to a failed storm drain KY1379 between the 0-6.1 mile points KY 2590 between the 2.2-2.8 mile points Ohio County KY 136 at the 3.6 mile point KY 369 clear between the 0-1 mile points KY 919 between the 3-4 mile points KY 1903 at the 0.3 mile point Union County U.S. 60 at the Crittenden-Union line KY 359 between the 6-6.3 mile points KY 360 from the 5.45-7.1 mile points KY 360 from 9.15-12.5 mile points KY 370 between the 9.15012.5 mile points KY 667 from 0.2 mile point to KY 871 KY 871 between the 3.6-5.6 mile points KY 923 between the 0.8-1.8 mile points KY 1452 full length KY 1508 between the 2.7-5.85 mile point KY 1637 full length KY 2101 full length Webster County KY 120 between the 0-2 mile points at Tradewater River/ Crittenden line KY 132 at the 0 mile point at Crittenden-Webster line to the 7 mile point KY 109 between the 7-8 mile points KY 109 between the 10-11.5 mile points KY 120 between the 0-2 mile points KY 132 between the 0-7 mile points KY 132 between the 25-26 mile points KY 143 between the 4-7.2 mile points KY 143 between the 9-10 mile points KY 370 between the 0-1 mile points KY 370 between the 2-4 mile points KY 493 between the 0-2 mile points KY 494 between the 0-1 mile points KY 1525 between the 0-2 mile points KY 1835 between the 3-4 mile points KY 2837 between the 2-3 mile points The KYTC says if anyone sees a 'road closed' sign, they should do the safe thing and turn around.
