Explorers drop series finale to Sioux Falls in 15-4 loss, turn focus to weekend series at Lake Country
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KCAU) – The Sioux City Explorers dropped its first Thursday game of the season in a 15-4 loss to the Sioux Falls Canaries.
Sioux Falls scores six runs in the bottom of the fifth, followed by a seven-run frame in the sixth inning to take a 14-4 lead.
Henry George recorded his first home run of the season while Abdiel Layer and Torin Montgomery each added an RBI. Zac Vooletich finished 3-for-4 at the plate with three hits.
Peniel Otano made his debut for the X's as the starter, striking out four batters and walking five while allowing seven runs in 4.2 innings of work.
Sioux City turns its focus to its weekend series at Lake Country, beginning on Friday.
