Massena man charged in St. Lawrence County robbery
MASSENA, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 30-year-old Massena man is facing multiple charges after an alleged robbery at a St. Lawrence County convenience store. According to the Massena Police Department, Austin Barr was charged second-degree robbery, petit larceny, third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment. Hermon man charged with kidnapping and fleeing police The charges stem from an alleged incident at the Sunoco Gas Station in Massena on Monday, February 10. Hermon man charged with kidnapping and fleeing police
MORRISTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 53-year-old Hermon man is facing multiple charges, which include kidnapping and an alleged police pursuit. According to New York State Police, Troopers received reports of a possible kidnapping incident around 2:20 p.m. Thursday, February 27. The investigation revealed that John Dobbs had restrained a victim and intended to prevent their escape by threatening to use deadly physical force. NYSP arrest Ogdensburg man on child pornography charges The victim managed to escape and was able to contact law enforcement. When officers found Dobbs, he fled the scene in a 2014 blue Dodge pickup truck. This led to a pursuit where Dobbs then allegedly abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. After a brief chase, he ultimately stopped but threatened the troopers with a hammer. The troopers instructed Dobbs to drop the weapon. He complied and was taken into custody after some time. Dobbs was arrested and transported to the State Police station in Ogdensburg for further questioning and processing.
