The New York Post's Jon Heyman offered an update on the state of the starting pitching market ahead of Thursday's MLB trade deadline, and it sounds like teams looking for a new ace might need to settle for a secondary market. Heyman noted that Miami Marlins front-line starter Sandy Alcantara is unlikely to have a new address by Thursday afternoon. The Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Astros, Padres and Rays are all in the mix for the 41-year-old. That there's so much reported competition for a pitcher like Morton among contenders is a telling sign of the market. Morton, a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, has appeared in 22 games this season (16 starts) with an ERA of 5.48. He is still averaging more than a strikeout per inning, but his 1.54 WHIP is trending to be the worst of his career since 2010. His 4.76 FIP is more in line with what he's done in more recent years, and while his walk rate is slightly up, it hasn't exploded. Put Morton on a better team, and it's fair to expect his results to improve, assuming he doesn't break down over the stretch run and into the playoffs. Morton is on a one-year deal worth $15 million. WWE 2K25 icon claims new update is 'moment of completion in video game industry'

As well as the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the record-breaking game, the Fearless DLC pack for WWE 2K25 is available today, featuring New Jack, Penta, and Jordynne Grace amongst the new characters being added to the game. New Jack is a fascinating one for fans, having built a fierce legacy in ECW as one of the boldest, most violent and most controversial figures in wrestling. ECW maestro and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman exclusively told Metro why today's DLC is such an important release for the series. 'This is a moment of completion in the entire video game industry,' he said. 'You cannot deny New Jack's influence in sports entertainment/pro wrestling culture, nor should you deny his influence on video games.' Heyman pointed out how a lot of people working in the business today grew up as fans of ECW and WWE during their childhood. 'And I mean, are you telling me that those who make Grand Theft Auto weren't influenced by New Jack? Come on!' New Jack is part of this week's Fearless DLC, with he, Penta and Jordynne Grace joined by Hall of Famer Bull Nakano, and YouTuber KSI in a Prime bottle costume. The Hardcore Icon gets special treatment too, when it comes to players using him in one-on-one, no disqualification-type matches such as Extreme Rules and Falls Count Anywhere. For those mode, New Jack will come out carrying a guitar and trash can full of weapons (including a crutch) which he'll spill in the ring ready to use when the bell rings. As if that wasn't enough, his entrance music will keep playing throughout the bout, which fans will remember well from his heyday. Heyman, 58, noted how including him in the roster for WWE 2K25 – which is the highest rated franchise title in Xbox history, with the same game now available on the Switch 2 – is a befitting way to honour his legacy. He said: 'Oh my God! What a fantastic idea to pay tribute to someone that has been such an influence on not only the culture of pro wrestling, but on the culture of video games, because of the influence that we've had on those who write the games.' In this year's WWE 2K25, Heyman takes centre stage in the Showcase mode, which Switch 2 gamers will be able to play as they explore the history of Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. I approached it with great reverence,' he said of his role as a narrator in the mode. 'There are so many gamers now that are going to learn about an actual education within a video game. With Seth Rollins out of action due to a knee injury, Heyman appeared to be laying the groundwork for a shocking reunion, hoping to lure the former Tribal Chief back into his corner. But just when it seemed like old alliances might be rekindled, chaos erupted. One thing became clear: SummerSlam is about to get personal, and the road there just took a wild turn. What Did Roman Reigns Say to Paul Heyman's Reunion Offer? Roman Reigns made one thing crystal clear on Raw. The former Undisputed title holder hasn't forgiven Paul Heyman for betraying him at WrestleMania 41. During the final moments of Monday night's show, Heyman approached Reigns with a bold offer: take charge of his new faction, which includes Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, while Seth Rollins recovers from a knee injury. Heyman added that he still loved his Tribal Chief, and believed that the duo could fix things once again. Reigns listened for a while and then took the mic to say, 'You're not a wiseman anymore, you're just a dumba*s.' Instead of accepting, Reigns reminded Heyman that he was the one who tore The Bloodline apart. He then told Breakker that Heyman was going to do the same to him as well and betray him at his weakest. Reigns gave credit to The Usos, Sami Zayn, and even Solo Sikoa for helping him to keep the title for 1316 days. However, he lambasted Heyman and said that he didn't have anything to do with keeping the gold. Jey Uso Backed Up Roman Reigns to Point Towards a Tag Team Match at SummerSlam After Reigns was done, Breakker took a direct shot at the former Undisputed title holder, calling him 'worthless' and claiming he's the real prize, someone Heyman would never turn on. Reigns, completely unfazed, acted like he didn't hear a word. Then, in classic fashion, he offered Breakker the mic, only to follow it up with a brutal Superman Punch. Reigns tried to go after Reed next, but the numbers quickly caught up to him. Just when things looked bleak, Jey Uso's music hit and the crowd erupted. Uso stormed the ring, took out both Reed and Breakker, and teamed up with Reigns to hit a devastating double spear to close the show. In a hilarious moment, Reigns and Uso did a 'YEET' dance after the show went off the air, which was uploaded by WWE on their social media with the caption, 'The Tribal Yeet'. Reigns even commented under the video, 'Definitely AI.' But it is safe to say that 'The OTC1' was feeling a little Ucey tonight. All signs now point to a tag team clash at SummerSlam: Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. It's a smart booking move, giving Reigns a strong spot on the card without putting too much wear and tear on him. And with Seth Rollins out due to injury, WWE is keeping his faction in play, buying time until he makes his return.
