Focus on kids on one-to-one basis: Goa CM to teachers

Higher Secondary School Teachers Association of Goa
, Sawant noted that the scheme generated an impressive workforce of 50,000 apprentices in both govt and private sectors working 'sincerely'.
'The apprentices demonstrated exceptional dedication, often surpassing the performance of regular employees,' Sawant said. 'I am confident that once these apprentices get absorbed into permanent govt employment, they will maintain their commendable work ethic.'
The Goa Apprenticeship Scheme, a state govt initiative, was designed to develop a skilled workforce while creating opportunities for lateral entry into both private and govt sectors. The scheme has received positive feedback from stakeholders since its inception.

As for teachers, the chief minister urged them to engage personally with students, assess their aptitudes, and provide informed guidance about course selection. He stressed the importance of staying updated on new educational courses available in the state and understanding market demands to help bridge the skills gap.
Sawant also encouraged teachers to familiarise themselves with emerging courses and their potential impact on employment opportunities. This knowledge, he suggested, would enable teachers to better guide students toward careers that align with both their interests and market needs.
