Sask. RCMP tickets group for Canada Day highway blockade

The Prince Albert RCMP ticketed seven protesters for allegedly blocking a bridge on Highway 2 north of the city on Tuesday. The RCMP says the local detachment responded to the protest around 3 p.m. on July 1 after receiving six 911 calls from the public about the blockade of a bridge about 20 kilometres north of Prince Albert. Five RCMP officers were dispatched to meet the group of seven protesters, two women and five men. When they refused to get off the roadway, police say each person received a ticket for unlawfully walking on a highway. One woman in the group was arrested after refusing to leave the roadway, for safety reasons, the RCMP says. No charges have been laid. The RCMP hasn't provided any details about the protest itself, and CTV News has yet been unable to find any details on social media. New Brunswick man arrested in 2024 crash that left two people dead

An RCMP vehicle is seen in this file photo. (CTV News Regina) A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a crash that left two people dead in New Brunswick last year. Police arrested the Sussex man on Monday. He was released and is due to appear in Woodstock provincial court on Aug. 19. The RCMP did not identify the man or say what charges he will face. The Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2, near Hay Settlement, around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2024. Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into the ditch. A 45-year-old man from Sussex died at the scene. A 43-year-old man died later in hospital. At the time of the crash, police said they believed a third person may have been in the vehicle, and they were trying to identify that person. New Brunswick RCMP looking for suspect who allegedly robbed store with a knife

RCMP is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect who allegedly robbed a store in Perth-Andover, N.B., with a knife. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the business on Tribe Road at 6:05 a.m. on May 27, said a news release. A person wearing a face mask allegedly entered the store and demanded the cash box from a cashier while threatening them with a knife. The suspect jumped over the counter, took the box and fled on foot, said the release.
