Crash closes Highway 4 near Hensall
Huron OPP have closed Highway 4 from Hurondale Road to Walper Road in Hensall due to a collision. OPP say two vehicles were involved in the crash. Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time. No further details, including what injuries were sustained, are available at this time. This is an ongoing story.

CHP investigating Highway 4 road rage shooting near Concord
The California Highway Patrol said a driver on Highway 4 near Concord was shot at while driving Wednesday afternoon. Around 2:20 p.m., the victim called 911 and reported a shooting during a road rage incident on eastbound Highway 4, between Willow Pass Road and San Marco Boulevard, the CHP said. The victim then used San Marco Boulevard to get off the highway and waited for first responders at a gas station. The CHP said they victim had an injury that was not life-threatening. The victim was taken to the hospital, and the CHP said it does not yet know if the victim was shot or grazed by the bullet. Detectives with the Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit will be at the scene.

Vegetation fire burns in Rodeo near homes, Highway 4
A brush fire was burning in Rodeo Monday afternoon near a residential subdivision and close to state Highway 4. The fire was burning grassland on the eastern edge of Rodeo just north of Highway 4 and east of Stirling Drive. The flames were seen just yards from homes on Dennis Court and also close to the Phillips 66 carbon plant off of Franklin Canyon Road. Cal Fire air tankers dropped retardant and helicopters performed water drops on the fire as crews on the ground dug lines around the blaze. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. As of 1 p.m., the fire had burned 15 acres, Cal Fire said.

Highway 4 reopened following fatal Friday crash
Huron OPP are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 4 north of Exeter on June 20, 2025. (Sean Irvine/CTV News London) One person has died and a second was airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash north of Exeter. According to OPP, the incident between a car and an SUV happened on Highway 4 at Hurondale Road happened just before 6 a.m. on Friday. Huron OPP Const. Craig Soldan told CTV News police efforts were hindered by a passerby who tampered with the scene. 'There was an individual that arrived shortly after the collision and starting removing debris away from the collision and we want to make sure people do not do that. That is important information for us, when we need to rebuild the collision and figure out what happened,' said Soldan. Highway 4 was closed in both directions in the area of Hurondale Road but has since reopened.
