This mountain hut will win your heart ... but how is it linked to NASA?
In Hiking from Early Canberra (self-published, 1977) Cla Allen reports that after Anderson took an impromptu shower in "water falling from that length of bark", another bushwalker, John Cumpston, christened the spot "Anderson's Shower". Although you won't find the location marked on maps, it's still known among some historically minded bushwalkers. In fact, much to the delight of his 12 fellow adventurers, John Evans of the Canberra Bushwalking Club posed for a selfie (okay, so I did twist his arm) in the currently dry creek line while leading a walk to the arboretum earlier this week. Who knows, perhaps it will become a tradition?
