SCC's Health Committee visits Saudi German Hospital
Committee Delegation and Hospital Welcome The visit was led by Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, the Committee's rapporteur, and included committee members Dr. Ruqaya Al Zaabi, Ahmed Humaidi Al Ketbi, Essa Abdulrahim Al Zarouni, Ali Salem Al Shamsi, and Khalfan Saeed Al Masafri. They were accompanied by Dr. Islam Al Shiwi, Media Expert at the Council, and Sumayya Mohammed Jassim, the Committee Secretary. The delegation was warmly received by hospital officials, including El Gabbani, Hospital Director; Dr. Talal Ali, Medical Director; Dr. Ahmed Saeed, Operations Manager; and Rasha Al Naqbi, Quality Specialist. The hosts provided an in-depth overview of the hospital's services, specialties, and future expansion plans—most notably the establishment of outpatient clinics in Al Suyoh area of Sharjah. Key Focus Areas of the Visit The visit touched on various aspects of healthcare services, including emergency care, specialised medical teams, home healthcare, VIP services, and the hospital's efforts to attract visiting medical consultants. Discussions also explored the hospital's cooperation with the Sharjah Health Authority and the measures taken to ensure patient satisfaction and a comprehensive healthcare environment. Emphasis on Collaboration and Best Practices During the meeting, Dr. Hind Al Hajri emphasised the importance of collaboration between the Council and healthcare entities, particularly private hospitals, in order to promote shared efforts and adopt best practices in healthcare delivery. She highlighted the value of continuous communication with the private medical sector and the exchange of proposals to enhance community health in the Emirate of Sharjah. Discussions on Emiratisation and Training Opportunities Committee members addressed several important topics, including support for Emiratisation in the healthcare sector, increasing the training of Emirati medical professionals, and offering internships in cooperation with universities. They also discussed the potential expansion of services to central regions like Al Batayeh and Mleiha. Hospital's Commitment to Development and Global Partnerships Hospital representatives expressed their appreciation for the Council's visit and reaffirmed the Saudi German Hospital's commitment to advancing healthcare services, expanding specialties, and building connections with international medical institutions—efforts aligned with Sharjah's vision for a strong and inclusive healthcare system. Concluding Tour and Positive Impressions At the end of the visit, the committee toured various departments within the hospital, reviewing its medical capabilities and facilities. They praised the quality of services provided and emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the public and private healthcare sectors to ensure comprehensive and integrated care across the Emirate.

SCC participates in 'Khattar Al Dar'
The initiative aims to bring joy and reassurance to the hearts of the elderly and appreciate their decades of dedication. The delegation included members Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, Dr. Ruqaya Al Zaabi, Issa Abdul Rahim Lazrouni, Hamad Obaid Al Hamoudi, and Ali Salem Khater Al Shamsi. They were received by Maryam Al Qatari, Director of the Elderly Care Home, and staff at the home. The delegation was welcomed and praised for its support to the initiative, which the home implements annually during the holy month of Ramadan. The Council's presence reflects its commitment to supporting the elderly and addressing their needs. Comprehensive care Members toured the home and were briefed on the services provided, which include comprehensive medical and healthcare services of the highest standards, along with the necessary equipment and supplies to ensure the comfort of residents. They also participated in Ramadan activities organised within the home, engaging in friendly conversations and recreational activities with the elderly, both men and women, creating an atmosphere of joy and family warmth. They also shared the iftar meal with the home's residents, a gesture that reflects the noble humanitarian values promoted by the Emirate of Sharjah in all its institutions. During the visit, SCC members emphasised that this visit affirms the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to pay special attention to the elderly, as they are the fathers and mothers who have contributed to building society and integrating this segment into society. Promoting the values of social responsibility This is particularly true within the framework of integrating roles to promote the values of cohesion, compassion, and social responsibility toward the elderly, and respect for them. At the conclusion of the visit, the residents of the home expressed their happiness with this kind gesture by SCC and their keenness to care for them and their affairs. They thanked the council for this initiative, which affirmed that the elderly remain an integral part of the fabric of society.
