President Donald Trump Pardons NBA YoungBoy On Gun Charges
NBA YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was pardoned by President Donald Trump on Wednesday (May 25). According to ABC News, this means the 25-year-old will not have to follow the terms of his probation, including drug testing, since he finished his home confinement sentence last month. 'From Louisiana to Utah, the battles have been endless, and now he can concentrate on first and foremost his family, and then, of course, his amazing career,' expressed the rapper's lawyer, Drew Findling, in a statement to the news outlet. Rolling Stone reported that Findling 'did not do the pardon application, but can confirm he was pardoned.' 'I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,' explained the Baton Rouge native in a statement shared to Instagram stories. 'This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I've worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.' In August 2024, the 'Outside Today' performer, legal name Kentrell Gaulden, pleaded guilty to possession of firearms by a convicted felon, hoping to have the courts transfer the litigation from his hometown to Utah. In Utah, he faced charges in a prescription pill drug fraud ring. He was sentenced to 23 months behind bars in December 2024 with five years of supervised probation after his release. According to HipHopDX, the rapper was released from a federal correctional facility in Talladega, Alabama, in March 2025, earlier than his projected summer release date, and transferred to Utah to complete his house arrest. Ahead of his presidential pardon, NBA YoungBoy announced his first headlining trek. Sean 'Diddy' Combs Allegedly 'Brutally' Attacked Cassie After Accusing Her Of Having Affair
Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been accused of 'brutally' attacking his former girlfriend, Casandra Fine (formerly known as Cassie Ventura), as his criminal trial begins. According to HipHopDX, opening statements from the prosecution on Monday (May 12) detailed vicious attacks suffered by the 'Me & U' singer throughout the duration of their 11-year relationship. Prosecutor Emily Johnson argued that the Hip-Hop mogul 'physically abused' and 'exploited' Fine, and became violent when he believed she had another love interest. 'Furious, he set out to find her. He said he would kill the man,' explained Johnson of the alleged abuse. Once the Harlem native located Fine, he allegedly 'brutally' attacked her, 'kicking her in the back and flinging her around like a rag doll.' Johnson also described how Combs allegedly threatened to blackmail Fine with video footage of her engaging in sexual acts with male sex workers, claiming he kept 'souvenirs of the most humiliating nights of her life'. In May, video footage was released of Combs violently assaulting Fine in March 2016. The judge will allow the video to be played for the jury despite attempts by Combs' legal team to have it banned. Fine is also set to testify against the 55-year-old using her real name. Additional details about the tumultuous relationship were also revealed in the opening statements. Per NBC News, the former pop star officially ended things with Combs after the death of Kim Porter in 2018 according to the defense. 'When Combs said Kim Porter was his soulmate, Cassie realized all the things she would not be, she wanted to be Combs' wife,' claimed lawyer Teny Geragos. He added that Fine allegedly understood, 'she would never be that, never be his wife, never be his love of his life.' 'We will not shy away from the things he did, but we will not own the things he did not do,' exclaimed Geragos. 'He is physical, he is a drug user, you may know of his love of baby oil. Is that a federal crime? No!' According to the outlet, Combs' sons Christian, Justin, and Quincy, daughters Chance, Jessie and D'Lila, and mother Janice were all in the courtroom for the opening statements. Combs' legal team will allegedly take the approach of portraying the singer as 'aggressive,' 'violent,' and 'capable of physical confrontation' in his defense. NBC News also noted the jury was advised that 'they are not there to judge as 'the moral police,' and suggest all the alleged victims were willing participants.' Lil Durk's Team Claims Feds Used Old Lyrics as False Evidence in Murder-for-Hire Case
Rapper Lil Durk is asking the court to dismiss his 2022 murder-for-hire charges, with his lawyers saying federal prosecutors used misleading evidence to convince a grand jury to indict him. Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, was charged last year with allegedly ordering the attempted murder of fellow rapper Quando Rondo. The shooting, which took place in 2022, left Rondo injured and his close friend Lul Pab dead. Durk has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His legal team now claims the government used lyrics from a song he recorded before the shooting as supposed proof of guilt. According to RollingStone , the song in question is "Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy," a 2022 track by rapper Babyface Ray featuring Durk. Federal prosecutors said Durk's verse appeared to "celebrate and profit from a revenge murder," quoting the line: "Told me they got an addy (go, go) / Got location (go, go) / Green light (go, go, go, go, go)." But Durk's lawyers argue that the song was recorded in January 2022 — six months before the shooting — and included signed statements from music producers to support their claim. "That claim is demonstrably false," Durk's lawyer David Findling wrote in a new court filing. "Unless the government is prosecuting Mr. Banks on a theory of extra-sensory prescience, the lyrics could not have soundly informed the grand jury's finding of probable cause." Lawyers Say Viral Clip Misused in Lil Durk's Murder Case The motion also challenges another key part of the case: a viral video that appears to show Quando Rondo screaming "No, no" at the crime scene, HipHopDX said. Prosecutors say Durk referenced this moment in the song. However, his team says this clip was never in the original video and that fan-edited versions posted on YouTube and Instagram are being wrongly used as evidence. "Mr. Banks did not create these videos," Findling stated. "The government has failed to show any connection between these fan-made clips and Mr. Banks." Durk's team also filed a separate motion asking the court to release him from jail before his trial. The rapper has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles since October 2024 and has already been denied bail once. His attorneys had offered a $3 million bond, backed by cash and property. A judge has yet to rule on either motion, but the case is being closely watched due to its complex nature and the large volume of digital evidence, including 230 gigabytes of video and over 20,000 pages of reports. Lil Durk continues to maintain his innocence, insisting there is "no real evidence" tying him to the shooting. Originally published on Music Times

Wiz Khalifa drops Kush & Orange Juice 2 with Don Toliver, Larry June, and modern twist on classic
Wiz Khalifa has officially dropped Kush & Orange Juice 2, a follow-up to his 2010 breakout mixtape that helped define his laid-back, stoner-rap style. Released 15 years after the original Kush & Orange Juice, the new project revisits the mellow mood of its predecessor while modernising the sound for a new era. The sequel includes 23 tracks and features guest appearances from Don Toliver, Larry June, Gunna, Juicy J, Curren$y, Ty Dolla $ign, DJ Quik, and Smoke DZA. Songs like '5 Star,' 'Khalifa's Home,' and 'Super Duper High Outro' nod to Khalifa's early work. Meanwhile, tracks like 'Hide It' and 'Bring Your Lungs' bring in new energy. A radio-style skit returns as a throwback to the structure of the original mixtape. Leading up to the release, Khalifa dropped several freestyles reminiscent of his blog-era rise—not just for nostalgia, but to set the project's creative tone. While themes of indulgence, freedom, and escapism remain, they're now delivered through sleeker, more textured production. According to Bryson 'Boom' Paul of HipHopDX, Kush & Orange Juice 2 celebrates Khalifa's consistency rather than reinvention. The rapper remains committed to mood-driven music, standing out in a landscape where trends often overshadow personal style. Standout guest appearances include Michael Prince, RMR, LaRussell, Luh Tyler, and Chevy Woods, among others. Despite its throwback roots, Kush & Orange Juice 2 is more than a tribute—it's a testament to Khalifa's staying power and the lifestyle he's built his music around.

Diddy Sued By Bad Boy Co-Founder Kirk Burrowes For Sexual Harassment And More
One Bad Boy co-founder is going 'bad' on the other. Kirk Burrowes recently sued Diddy for sexual harassment and a slew of other accusations. People recently reported that Burrowes' legal team filed an 18-page complaint against the controversial mogul on Friday (Feb. 28), citing a 'deeply disturbing' and 'toxic environment of coercion, fear and psychological manipulation.' In addition to sexual harassment, they claimed there were instances of physical aggression and coercion, unwanted sexual advances, and inappropriate behavior during business meetings. Burrowes claims that the 'I Need A Girl' artist used blackmail, violence, and extortion to force him to give up his 25% stake in their legendary label. This lawsuit comes 22 years after Burrowes first sued Diddy, claiming that he violently influenced him to give up $25 million by storming into their offices with a baseball bat and forcing him to sign a contract that effectively withdrew his ownership of Bad Boy. The lawsuit was dismissed because it fell outside of the statute of limitations. Kirk Burrowes' lawsuit against Diddy comes days after he sued his mother, Janice Combs, for fraud. He claimed that she 'knowingly participated in the fraudulent scheme' to gain possession of his 25% stake in Bad Boy, which he gave up after he was extorted by the Making The Band star. Burrowes' lawsuit, per Rolling Stone, reveals that he only recently learned about these alleged deeper, darker methods of getting him to give up his power. 'This latest lawsuit filed by Kirk Burrowes, filed by none other than Tyrone Blackburn, is another frivolous attempt to re-litigate claims that have been repeatedly thrown out of court over the past 30 years,' Puff's legal team told HipHopDX. 'Despite repeated dismissals, Burrowes and Blackburn are intent on wasting the court's time and resources by refiling dismissed claims and now dragging Mr. Combs' 80 year old mother into this.' Burrowes is looking to get his ownership stake back, plus compensation, and to have the company audited. Meanwhile, Diddy remains behind bars after being arrested in September for racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. His trial is set to begin in May.
