Huge pop star's gig cancelled hours before taking the stage after safety scare
The last-minute announcement sparked confusion and anger among ticket holders, many of whom took to social media to voice their disappointment pop flop Huge pop star's gig cancelled hours before taking the stage after safety scare SHAKIRA'S latest gig has been cancelled over a safety scare - with just hours to go before she took to the stage. Fans eagerly awaiting her Boston, Massachusetts concert last night were left disappointed after Fenway Park officials abruptly called off the show. 2 Shakira's latest gig has been cancelled over a safety scare Credit: Getty Singer Shakira, 48, was set to perform at 7:30pm as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which is making its way through the U.S. In a surprising move, the venue also canceled the following night's concert with country artists Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn. Fenway Park posted a brief message on social media stating: 'Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience,' but did not initially explain the reason behind the cancellations. Later, Live Nation revealed the decision came after safety concerns arose during routine pre-show inspections. 'Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe.' The company confirmed in a statement to USA Today: "Structural elements were identified as not being up to standard, so the shows were canceled. All team members are safe." The last-minute announcement sparked confusion and anger among ticket holders, many of whom took to social media to voice their disappointment. One wrote on Instagram: 'How do two different shows get canceled so close to showtime?' Others felt a refund wasn't enough compensation for their disrupted plans. Someone else fumed, 'This is absolute c**p!' Shakira accidentally confirms Rihanna is 'pregnant' during live slip up on Met Gala red carpet On X, formerly Twitter, another demanded, 'And what was the reason? The show starts in 2 hours. At least put up a more elaborate explanation this is insane.' Her next show is still set to go ahead at Washington, D.C.'s Nationals Park on Saturday night. It comes just weeks after Shakira accidentally confirmed Rihanna's pregnancy on the Met Gala red carpet. The Hips Don't Lie appeared shocked and shrieked in horror when she realized she might have said too much during a live TV interview. Shakira had walked the blue carpet before her former collaborator even arrived. Due to photos of RiRi's baby bump being published before the event, some fans, including Shakira, already assumed she had confirmed her big news. However, before she was ever able to make the baby announcement on her own, Shakira made the almighty slip-up. Speaking to NBC News, Shakira said that Rihanna was the person she was 'most excited' to hang out with on fashion's biggest night. "I want to see Rihanna! I want to see her so bad. And I just heard the news too," she told the interviewer. When the reporter seemed confused as to what Shakira was referring to, she excitedly responded: "She's pregnant!" She then looked horrified as she realized that she had spoken out before Rihanna herself was even able to announce the news. The Grammy-winner put her hands up to her face and looked shocked as she confessed: "Am I not supposed to say that?" She then awkwardly laughed and walked away from the interview.

Leading up to the show, the Hips Don't Lie singer shared Instagram Story posts expressing her excitement and teasing appearances from and Wyclef Jean. But just hours before doors opened for the show, ticket seller Live Nation announced that the event had been cancelled. Shakira's hair stylist used three Boots products to achieve stunning Wimbledon look
When most people think of Shakira, it's often the distinctive beats in 'Hips Don't Lie' or her iconic 'Le-do-lo-le-lo-le' of 'Wherever, Whenever' that spring to mind. But for me, it's her mane of curls which are my first thought as one of pop cultures curly hair icons, thanks to her glorious blonde twisty waves and distinctive coils. It's always the assumption that at events, such as Wimbledon, stars like Shakira will have a team of hairstylists that have perfectly coiffed their look with 1,000 different wildly expensive products and tools. But for Shakira - who was papped at the tennis tournament in 2023 - it only took three curly-girl approved hair products and the hands of hairstylist Liam Curran to generate effortlessly chic, glamorous mermaid-style waves - and they're all available on the high street. Creating her Wimbledon waves with Curlsmith products - which are available both on the website and at Boots and Amazon - the singer's hair stylist shared the magic trio with their followers on Instagram after the event with which the singer's natural locks were elevated. Boosting texture, kinks and curls, the stylist used the Curlsmith Miracle Shield protectant mist, Effortless Waves moisturising styling spray, and Shine Oil (which is now discontinued, however its Bonding Oil is a good alternative), reports OK!. Priced at £24 each, except the Bonding Oil at £25 – or £10 for travel sizes – these haircare gems promise to tame frizz, enhance curl patterns and ensure your tresses withstand the test of time. The Miracle Shield emerges as a top pick for buyers who claim it 'helps my frizz and makes my hair soft. Curls are more defined'. Laden with proteins, abyssian oil, olive complex, superfoods and vegan thermal shield, it's a protective barricade against heat (up to 230C), sea water, chlorine, and pollution. Plus, it minimises breakage from brushing and styling while shielding your locks from UV rays – ideal for sun-soaked days out at events like Wimbledon. It's giving rivals such as Only Curls' £18 Heat Protect Spray, infused with rice water and proteins, and Boucleme's Curl Defence Spray at £22, a run for their money, offering similar nurturing and defensive qualities for curls up against heat, UV, and pollution. A customer awards it five stars, saying: "I love this. Helps get my hair a little wetter for getting my waves back if I have let it dry a little too much before styling. The bottle sprays in a lovely fine mist so it coats my hair evenly. Doesn't seem to leave build up either." Shakira's haircare regime has been enhanced by the use of Miracle Shield, followed by Effortless Waves, a popular styling spray celebrated for delivering lasting hold and definition without the dreaded 'product crunch' or frizz - thanks to ingredients like linseed extract, chia seed extract, and aloe vera. People with lacklustre hair have praised the product for adding substantial volume to their tresses. A second said: "Effortless waves has given such an 'oomph' to my fine limp hair. It's easy to scrunch in and gives volume all day without deflating. Amazing!". Another shared: "I have wavy hair and had tried several products which were too heavy for my fine hair. Effortless waves, in combination with a lightweight Curlsmith curl cream, has given me a great balance of maximising my waves without weighing them down, really happy with these products." Not everyone was fully satisfied, as a three-star reviewer expressed discontent with the fragrance intensity: "This is lovely, but the scent is very strong. It's giving me headaches every time I use it. Please make a fragrance free version!" Although UK residents can't get their hands on the brand's Shine Oil, the Bonding Oil serves as a worthy substitute, aiming to repair hair bonds, seal cuticles, enhance shine, and maintain the hair's health and sleek appearance – where research shows it boosts shine by as much as 67 percent. The brand describes its breakthrough product: "Our revolutionary Bonding Oil is made of 99% natural ingredients and contains PlantSilk, a unique next-generation blend of plant-derived esters specifically designed to outperform silicones while being lighter than raw oils." To achieve the best results, the oil should be applied after hair is completely dry. For those seeking to add lustre to their tresses before blow-drying, Color Wow's Dream Coat Supernatural Spray – a crowd favourite for £27 – provides an industry-acclaimed anti-frizz treatment that not only makes hair waterproof but also smooth. It's vital to remember that heat is required to activate this product, so it's best used after a shower and before styling. Kérastase's Glaze Drops, at £38.80, are also quite popular and have received praise for keeping hair sleek and shiny for up to four days.
