Hisar: A Nepalese national allegedly killed his wife at a poultry farm in Jagan village near Agroha, Hisar, and fled the scene with his daughter. Police reached the spot after being alerted, took custody of the body, and sent it to Hisar General Hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased has been identified as Maya Devi, 35.
According to poultry farm owner Jaiveer, Maya Devi and her husband, Mohan, had been working at his farm for some time. He alleged that Mohan frequently assaulted his wife under the influence of alcohol.
On Tuesday morning, Jaiveer saw Mohan escorting Maya Devi to their room. When questioned, Mohan claimed she was unwell and left on his motorcycle, saying he was going to get medicine. When he failed to return and his phone was found switched off, Jaiveer checked the room and discovered Maya Devi dead, with visible head injuries.
Risal Singh in charge of Agroha police station arrived at the scene with his team and summoned forensic experts to collect evidence. Police have launched a search operation to trace Mohan, who is absconding with his daughter.
