HIT 3 Box Office Day 5: Nani's Action Thriller Smashes Past Rs 100 Crore Mark
Last Updated: Nani and Srinidhi Shetty's HIT: The Third Case, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, surpassed Rs 100 crore globally. It's the fourth-highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2025. Nani and Srinidhi Shetty's Hit: The Third Case (aka Hit 3) kicked off its theatrical run with an impressive opening. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, this third instalment in the popular HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) franchise has been pulling in steady numbers at the box office. While the film experienced a slight dip in collections on its first Sunday, it still raced past the coveted Rs 100 crore mark globally, a solid milestone for this crime-action thriller. HIT 3 is hence the fourth-highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2025. On Monday, Nani's action-packed thriller HIT 3 added Rs 4.02 crore (nett) to its domestic earnings, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the India total to Rs 56.17 crore. However, the film saw its first dip into single-digit territory after opening strong with Rs 21 crore on Thursday, followed by consistent double-digit collections over the weekend— Rs10.5 crore, Rs 10.4 crore, and Rs 10.25 crore. While Sacnilk reports the film's global total at around Rs 82.6 crore, the makers announced a much higher figure – Rs 101 crore worldwide in just four days. Interestingly, HIT 3 outperformed the first Monday collections of Nani's last three releases. While Dasara managed ₹3.65 crore, Hi Nanna brought in ₹2.35 crore, and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram collected ₹4 crore, HIT 3 led the pack with ₹4.02 crore. The film also maintained a decent overall occupancy rate of 24.01% in the Telugu market on Monday. Morning shows began on a quieter note with 17.20% occupancy, but numbers picked up by the afternoon (28.53%) and held steady through the evening (23.22%) and night (27.07%) shows. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanti Tipirneni and Nani under Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions, HIT The Third Case stars Nani and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. The action thriller also features Surya Srinivas, Rao Ramesh, Nepoleon, Komalee Prasad, and several others in pivotal roles. First Published:

Hit 3 box office collection day 4: Nani's thriller slips into single digits on first Sunday, crosses Rs 50 crore
Sailesh Kolanu's action thriller Hit: The Third Case, or Hit 3, continues to perform well at the box office. The film, starring Nani and Srinidhi Shetty, saw a minor dip in its earnings on the first Sunday since its release last week on Thursday. However, the slight dip hasn't stopped Hit 3 from crossing the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film collected Rs 9.50 crore on Sunday, marking the first day when it earned in single digits only. The Sunday earnings were slightly lower than that on Saturday (Rs 10.4 crore), which in turn were slightly lower than that on Friday (Rs 10.5 crore). However, the biggest dip was registered on Friday, as the film opened to Rs 21 crore on Thursday. As per Sacnilk, the extended opening weekend collection of Hit 3 at the domestic box office then turns out to be Rs 51.40 crore. While the exact language-vise distribution hasn't been ascertained yet, the film is likely to have earned the most in its native Telugu version, followed by the dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam respectively. Given its trajectory, Hit 3 seems to be doing better than the other South release on May 1 — Karthik Subbaraj's Tamil action comedy Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, which has earned only Rs 43 crore in its extended opening weekend in India, across all languages. However, Hit 3 is significantly behind the major Bollywood release on May 1 — Rajkumar Gupta's period thriller Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor, which has earned over Rs 70 crore in the four days since its release. Unlike its fellow franchise film Raid 2, Hit 3 is an 'A'-rated film, which would've surely impacted its box office numbers. Before the release, Nani had called Hit 3 his 'first crime thriller.' 'Preparation is needed for every script. This is my first crime thriller, so it was a new and exciting process. Every film has its own way of helping you understand the characters. It was fun, basically, because I was doing it for the first time,' Nani said. Nani has also turned producer with Hit 3, with his banner Wall Poster Cinema. 'This is the first time I'm working in production, so it is definitely the next step in my career, 100 percent for sure,' added Nani. Hit: The Third Case is the third instalment in the successful Hit franchise. Hit: The First Case, starring Vishwak Sen, released in 2020, while Hit: The Second Case, headlined by Adivi Sesh, opened in 2022. The first part was also remade in Hindi in 2022 by Kolanu in his Bollywood debut, starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles.
