How social media is transforming wedding days
A wedding content creator said described how more couples are embracing seeing their big day through the candid lens of a mobile phone. Geared with just an iPhone, Beth Denman, 25, and her team take thousands of photos and videos during weddings, which are edited into short form content for social media. She started Social Scenes from her home in Attleborough, Norfolk, two years ago and has now grown it into a team of five. "It's very candid and in the moment... it's the moments that are often missed by the bride and groom," Ms Denman said. She first discovered wedding content creation in 2023, on social media posts from Australia. Ms Denman estimated that, at the time, there were just three other wedding creators in Norfolk. "I thought that I could totally do this. I noticed that no-one was really doing it in Norfolk," she said. She estimates there are now about 20 people providing a similar service across the county. The wedding planning website, Hitched, has reported a 586% rise in searches for wedding content creators in 2025. Ms Denman said she plays the role of the "uninvited but invited guest". "We blend in with the shadows and we gravitate around the wedding to capture different parts," she added. Wedding creators such as Ms Denman work alongside traditional photographers and videographers to capture the big day. Although they may seem similar, Ms Denman said wedding creators worked candidly, sometimes providing content for couples within 24 hours. "I think if people see it as the death of the photographer or videographer, they're getting the complete wrong conception," she added. "Content creators aren't a replacement for anybody... we are an addition." Wedding photographer Ellie Gillard agrees that the services they provide differ. Ms Gillard has been a wedding photographer in Norfolk and London for 14 years, and has photographed more than 400 weddings. "Content creators serve a different purpose in the grand scheme of things," she said. "It's great for people who are very present on social media - the content that they give you are almost instant. "But people have had photographers at their wedding since photography began, and it fits that tradition." She has previously worked with content creators and believes their job is not as simple as some may think. "The growth of content creators means that some people think it's fun, that they can turn up and just point their phones at things," she said. "But there is more to it than that... it's really important that you blend into the day seamlessly." Follow Norfolk news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram and X. FBI's Zeeko Zaki Talks OA and Gemma's Future After Train Hijacking — Was He Planning to Propose…?
The following contains spoilers from the March 11 episode of CBS' . Did their dodging of death at the hands of train hijackers derail OA and Gemma's year-plus relationship? More from TVLine The Way Home EPs Address Pregnant Del Speculation, Rule Out Finale Theory About Young Jacob The Neighborhood Renewed for Final Season at CBS FBI's Zeeko Zaki Teases a 'Little Action Movie' for OA/Gemma, Shares Early Buzz on FBI: CIA Spinoff Pilot In the 14th episode of FBI Season 7, titled 'Hitched,' Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan (played by original cast member Zeeko Zaki) and girlfriend Gemma Brooks (Billions' Comfort Clinton) were heading to Niagara Falls for a romantic, 'unplugged' getaway when their train was hijacked and rerouted. OA, without his gun, tried to play things cool and pretended to just be a lawyer. But when a fellow passenger ignored OA's advice and tried to play hero, OA joined in the fight, which wound up putting a hijacker's bullet into Gemma's belly. As the hijackers in their passenger car grew disenfranchised by their leader's agenda, OA was able to convince once of them (played by Magnum P.I. alum Stephen Hill) to help in the stopping of bleeding and dressing of Gemma's wound. The FBI team did heir best to avert catastrophe, getting a 'failsafe' placed on the track ahead that'd keep the train from plowing into its target, a company with vats of toxic chemicals on-site. But if the train hits that clamp, the derailment would jeopardize the loves of those on board. OA moved Gemma and the others to another car, then dangled himself outside between the fast-moving cars to juuuust barely flip the switch that decoupled them. After the lead hijacker took her life, OA moved into the driver's compartment and, with help from the team back home, applied the breaks in such a way to bring the train to a stop mere feet from the failsafe. That night, OA sat at Gemma's hospital bedside as she came to, only to nudge her to rest. He then confided in an arriving Maggie all of the second-guessing he was doing, about what he might have done differently to spare Gemma the gunshot: 'I was supposed to protect her.' Regardless of OA's anxiety, FBI original cast member Zeeko Zaki told TVLine of OA and Gemma's status, 'I feel like we definitely left it off in a great place.' In fact, 'I'm hoping that this experience makes us stronger, though I think it could go a lot of different ways. We'll see what the writers are brewing.' Given that the episode was titled 'Hitched' and OA and Gemma were en route to the traditionally romantically Niagara Falls, we had to ask Zaki: Did he, upon first getting wind of this episode, wonder if OA would be revealed to have a certain kind of very special, sparkly ring in his pocket? In a word, nah. 'There's definitely some room to imagine that,' he conceded, 'but I really feel that there's a lot more that Gemma and I can build before we get to that point. We'll see if this scares her off, we'll see if this makes us stronger…. That's not up to me, but I'm down and very excited to play both.'Best of TVLine Mrs. Maisel Flash-Forward List: All of Season 5's Futuristic Easter Eggs Yellowjackets Recap: The Morning After Yellowjackets Recap: The First Supper

FBI First Look Photos: OA and Gemma Are in Danger on a Train! (Exclusive)
A romantic getaway for OA and Gemma goes off the rails — but hopefully not off the rails — as seen in TVLine's exclusive first look at the next episode of CBS' FBI. In the 14th episode of Season 7, titled 'Hitched' and airing Tuesday, March 11 at 8/7c, Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan (played by original cast member Zeeko Zaki) and his girlfriend of over a year, Gemma Brooks (Billions' Comfort Clinton, in her sixth appearance on FBI), are on holiday on a high-speed passenger train when it is hijacked and rerouted. Meaning, are we getting FBI's take on the underrated Under Siege 2: Dark Territory? Review the exclusive photos above and below, and share your predictions for how this deadly drama unfolds! Comfort Clinton made her debut as Gemma exactly one year ago today, when FBI viewers learned that OA had quietly started dating. That happiness was quickly tempered as OA and the team discovered that Gemma, who was raised on the Upper East Side in a world of penthouses and private schools, had some unsavory friends. But all that is behind us now. FBI was not among the nine shows that CBS renewed early in one fell swoop last week; that's because the franchise's mothership earned a three-season renewal last spring, meaning it will be around through at least Season 9. In fact, FBI will attempt so sire a third spinoff with a springtime episode that doubles as a backdoor pilot for a prospective offshoot titled FBI: CIA; you can read much more about that here. ‘All my dreams were shattered when our wedding company vanished'
Emily Baldwin had planned a bucolic wedding. A hundred guests would camp in tents in a riverside meadow and party in a giant tipi in May. But, she says, things began to unravel last summer, when the company she had paid to supply the tipi disappeared, along with her £1,800 deposit. With three months to go, and her budget shredded, she and her fiance have had to cancel their plans. An unknown number of other couples are facing similar heartache after wedding supplier, Origami Marquees, ceased trading. Its website had offered bespoke designs, event management, a bar service and furniture hire across the country. Those tempted by the gallery of spectacular marquees were promised an 'unforgettable experience'. That pledge, at least, was fulfilled as customers are forced back to the drawing board. As the wedding season approaches amid a cost of living crisis, many more couples could find their big day will become significantly smaller. The average cost of a wedding has climbed to nearly £24,000, but a 24% rise in wedding scams last year, combined with a record number of firms reporting critical financial distress, means some couples may not get what they paid for. Baldwin had discovered Origami Marquees listed on the wedding website Hitched. She and her fiance had a tight budget of £10,000, £6,000 of which was contracted to Origami for the tipi, a sound system, lighting and a stage. The 30% deposit was paid by bank transfer last May, 12 months before the wedding. 'Soon after, the company disappeared,' she says. 'Its website was taken down and calls and emails went unanswered.' Unable to afford a deposit for another venue, the couple are planning a simple beach wedding with a handful of guests in Greece, where they'd booked their honeymoon. 'The emotional stress of having to deal with this has taken away from the excitement,' says Baldwin. 'I am sure there are still people out there expecting the company to turn up for their wedding.' Holly Ryland-Jones fears she has lost her £2,500 deposit after booking Origami to provide a marquee, bar and toilets for her wedding this June. She says it stopped responding to messages last July. 'Reputable sites, such as Hitched, advertised Origami Marquees, so I assumed they were a trusted supplier,' she says. 'It's scary to see how easy it is for businesses to 'disappear' with our hard-earned money.' Another bride-to-be, Emma Phillips-Guy, is £1,600 down and has had to suspend payments to her pension scheme to afford a £2,200 deposit with a different firm. 'We paid Origami in May, then everything went quiet,' she says. 'The company never had the decency to inform us it would not be supplying us after all,' she says. 'I am sure there are still people out there expecting the company to turn up for their wedding' Origami Marquees, the trading name of Bristol-based Origami Group, was set up with a sole director, Luke Graeme-Wilson, in 2022 and, within a year, there was a proposal for a compulsory strike-off from the Companies House register. Companies can be removed if they don't submit accounts or respond to letters. It was allowed to continue trading, but last year no accounts were filed, and, in November, it applied for voluntary liquidation. Couples contacting the Observer say they were not informed the company had ceased trading and, since they had to pay deposits by bank transfer, their money is not protected by banking chargeback schemes. Avon & Somerset police says it is aware of complaints to Action Fraud about a wedding supplier based in the Bristol area. 'Discussions with the local authority's Trading Standards are ongoing,' it says, 'to determine how these matters will be progressed.' Graeme-Wilson blames 'insurmountable financial challenges'. He says: 'We are doing everything we can to return deposits as we wind down the company, with all available funds and proceeds from the sale of assets used to meet our outstanding obligations. Some deposits have already been returned, and we expect all deposits for 2025 and beyond will be fully refunded. 'Suggestions of fraud are entirely misplaced – there is nothing more here than a business that, despite many successes, has, unfortunately, not been able to survive.' He did not respond to questions about how many refunds have been issued, or why customers were not told that the company had ceased trading. Hitched removed Origami's listing when we got in touch. 'We do not have an advertising agreement with it,' it says. 'We offer a marketplace that provides real reviews to help couples make informed decisions. When a vendor concern, or complaint, is brought to our attention directly, we take swift action.' Baldwin fears the experience has cast a lasting shadow. 'A wedding day is meant to be one of the most special times in life, but ours has been tainted by a business we trusted.' It's difficult to predict if a company will become insolvent, but there are red flags:FeedbackCheck reviews on as many platforms as possible, and look for recurring themes in any negative feedback.
