Hitomi Broadcast to demonstrates MatchBox Everywhere at IBC
New software solutions expand reliable timing measurement capabilities across broadcast, live venues, and professional AV environments. Hitomi Broadcast, the market leader in audio/video alignment and latency tools, will showcase its expanded MatchBox ecosystem at IBC 2025. The company will demonstrate how its trusted timing measurement technology now addresses latency challenges across diverse environments, from traditional broadcast facilities to venue production, consumer devices and medical applications. Hitomi's new software solutions create a comprehensive ecosystem that connects different parts of the broadcast chain, enabling teams to share analysis resources and measure timing accuracy from camera to final distribution. At IBC 2025, Hitomi will demonstrate its 'glass-to-glass' measurement capability, showing how end-to-end latency can be precisely measured from camera capture through to final display. This addresses the critical need for understanding timing throughout the entire signal path as direct-to-consumer streaming becomes more prevalent. Russell Johnson, Director at Hitomi, said: 'As the world becomes more software-focused, so does Hitomi. We're moving with the times to provide broadcasters with the peace of mind that comes from knowing their content is perfectly timed, regardless of delivery method. We have been working with a number of trusted partners to bring our timing capabilities within places where it's never been before.' Stand 10.A42

Japan maid cafe now speaks 100 languages to elevate customer experience using AI
Japan's largest maid cafe chain has partnered with a tech company to install AI-powered translation screens, enhancing the experience for foreign tourists and customers with hearing impairments. One of At-home Cafe's locations in Akihabara, Tokyo's vibrant centre of otaku culture and maid cafes, began using these cutting-edge artificial intelligence screens, which support over 100 languages, in January, as reported by Japanese newspaper Nikkei Shimbun on February 10. The screen, known as VUEVO Display, was developed by Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. in collaboration with Tsukuba University. This transparent screen, radiating a soothing baby pink light, provides real-time translations of the maids' prompts, displaying the translations for customers seated opposite the maids. Hitomi, the cafe's star maid, emphasised the importance of the screen's transparency, allowing customers to see the maids' expressions and gestures through it. Japan's maid cafes have become a popular cultural phenomenon, attracting both locals and international tourists.
