Strictly fans ‘work out' this year's same sex dance pairing after full line up is revealed
STRICTLY Come Dancing fans think they've 'worked out' this year's same sex dance pairing - as the full line-up is unveiled. Viewers are eagerly awaiting the beloved BBC dance show's return this Autumn. 4 Sleuthing fans think they've rumbled this year's same-sex partnership. It comes as Kristian Nairn - who played Game of Thrones ' beloved Hodor - was the final star to be confirmed. The 49-year-old, who is also a DJ, stands at an impressive, towering 6'9. Usually, the BBC show pairs celebrities and professionals based on height compatibility. Writing online, fans predicted Kristian could be partnered with a male pro - for this reason. One wrote: "Given his height, maybe there's a chance he gets a male pro? "Even the taller female pros will still be nearly a foot shorter than him! "Excited to see him, always struck me as a lovely guy in interviews." Another added: "Maybe he'll get Johannes?" While a third chimed in: "Wow, was not expecting this. Kristian Nairn and Karen Carney has been confirmed for Strictly "Rooting for him and excited to see how they will work around the height difference." This year's line-up also includes Gladiators star Nitro, Dani Dyer, Balvinder Sopal and Vicky Pattison, to name just a few. The show's tallest male pros include Kai Widdrington (6'2) and Johannes Radebe (6'0). Meanwhile, fans also highlighted 5'7 female professional Nadiya Bychkova. Strictly Come Dancing has featured multiple same-sex pairings across recent series. In 2021, Bake Off star John Whaite placed as runner-up alongside Johannes. A year earlier, Olympic boxer Nicola Adams was partnered with Katya Jones. Comedian Jayde Adams danced with Karen Hauer during her time on Strictly. Strictly airs on BBC One and iPlayer.

Strictly Come Dancing has now confirmed all 15 of the contestants that will appear in the 2025 series and fans are not impressed. Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed its final celebrity of the 2025 line up. A total of 15 stars who are set to take to the BBC show's dance floor later this year. Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn's participation in the show was announced this morning. He is best known for his role of Hodor in the HBO fantasy series and also works as a DJ, but will now be preparing to put his footwork to the test when the much-loved programme returns in the autumn. Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will all be returning for Strictly's 23rd series. Kristian said: "This will be a huge challenge for me physically, but I'm ready to rise to it! It's a surreal and wonderful opportunity to shed one of my left feet." This year's line up includes a fresh new batch of famous faces including Geordie Shore icon Vicky Pattison as well as Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis. However, some viewers are not to impressed with the contestants as they rushed to X to express their disappointment now that the full line-up has been confirmed. One less than impressed fan wrote on X: "Anyone else completely and utterly underwhelmed by this year's #Strictly line up?" Another joked: "[To] the people commenting 'who?' under Strictly's celebrity announcements. Nobody know baby!" Someone else chimed in: "I started out optimistic about the Strictly line-up... but now... yeah. Not the best, is it? I'll still watch it, of course, but there's no stand out contestants for me really." The programme has featured a whole host of famous stars over the years including the likes of Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, Spice Girl Emma Bunton and Misteeq's Alesha Dixon. One fan was quick to point out that there is no one as big as them on the BBC show this time around. They wrote: "Obviously I love Strictly but this has got to be the naffest line up ever?! Literally not one single 'big' name like where are the pop girls or something." Former Lioness footballer Karen Carney was announced as the 14th contestant in the 2025 line-up, having played for Chelsea, Arsenal, Birmingham City and England during her footballing career. Shortly after that, Ross King, best known as a showbiz guru on Lorraine, revealed he will also be taking part this year as well. The Strictly countdown is officially on with the entire 2025 cast being revealed by the BBC throughout the week. Yesterday, three names were announced to be taking on the competition. The Apprentice star and social media personality Thomas Skinner will be heading to the ballroom this year, with the dad-of-three being announced on Hits Radio. Tom, 34, partied with US Vice President JD Vance at a barbecue in the Cotswolds during his visit to the UK earlier in the week. He described the night as "once in a lifetime", posting a picture of himself with Vance to social media. Speaking about joining Strictly, Tom said: "I'm beyond excited to be joining Strictly Come Dancing. I've tackled the boardroom and some big breakfasts in my time, but stepping on to the dance floor under that glitter ball is next level stuff. 'I've never danced in my life other than at weddings, but I'm ready to graft and of course have a laugh. Bring on the sequins, sambas and, most importantly, the bosh to the ballroom.' Meanwhile, I'm A Celeb winner Vicki Pattison was announced on ITV's This Morning yesterday. The first confirmed contestant was Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, also known as Nitro. The former Olympic athlete, who took part in last year's Christmas special, was unveiled as a contestant during an episode of Newsround on Monday. After that, Love Island winner Dani Dyer was the second celebrity confirmed for the new series. The reality star, who is the daughter of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, shared the news on The One how on Monday evening.
