Champions League club make contact with Rasmus Hojlund's camp over summer move amid doubts over £72m Man United flop's future
Inter Milan are stepping up their interest in Rasmus Hojlund, who could be allowed to leave Manchester United for a cut-price fee. Mail Sport reported previously how Napoli, Juventus and Inter have been watching his progress aware that the 22-year old had greater success in Italy. Inter have made contact with his entourage and want to ascertain a price from United over the coming days. Any deal would help free up cash for United's rebuild. Ruben Amorim 's side struggled to score goals in last season's disastrous Premier League campaign as they managed to find the back of the net just 44 times in their 38 matches. Hojlund contributed to just four of those and mustered just one in a four-month dry spell between December and April — a woeful return for a player who cost £72million from Atalanta in 2023. Amorim has already taken a step towards addressing Man United's attacking problems with the signing of Brazil forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m. The news comes just days after Hojlund was linked with another Italian club, Napoli. United reportedly sent recruitment planner Matt Hargreaves to sweet talk Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna. The Premier League club were reputedly hoping to use Hojlund as a makeweight in a deal to sign Victor Osimhen. Now, however, Inter Milan are in the box seat to buy the 22-year-old from United.

Inter Milan Will Sign Two Strikers This Summer – Napoli & Juventus Linked Man United Flop + 2 Serie A Breakout Stars On Shortlist
Inter Milan Will Sign Two Strikers This Summer – Napoli & Juventus Linked Man United Flop + 2 Serie A Breakout Stars On Shortlist Inter Milan will sign two strikers this summer, with Rasmus Hojlund, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Nikola Krstovic all on their shortlist. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement If there has been one area of Inter's squad that has not been up to task this season, it's been the attack. Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram certainly remain the first-choice starting duo. However, both Martinez and Thuram have had their ups and downs. Both have dealt with periods of fitness and injury problems, and they have not always been available and in form simultaneously. Meanwhile, Inter signed Mehdi Taremi last season with the hope he would offer a real starting-quality alternative to Martinez and Thuram. However, that's not really been the case. Meanwhile, Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa have shone in moments. But neither have given Inter any kind of consistency. Both are out of contract at the end of June. (Photo by) According to Tuttosport, Inter Milan will look to rectify their striker issues by making two signings. Advertisement The clear objective for the Nerazzurri is to bring in players who they believe can compete for a starting spot, rather than just make up the numbers in the squad. One player Tuttosport anticipate Inter will target is out-of-form Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. Hojlund has never come close to living up to his price tag since joining United from Atalanta in 2023. Nevertheless, teams in Serie A continue to hold the Dane in high regard. Inter, Napoli, and Juventus are all keen to try and sign Hojlund. Particularly if they can secure a loan deal for the 22-year-old containing a purchase option. Advertisement Inter would see Hojlund as a player who can become a starting-quality striker who would take some of the burden off of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. Meanwhile, Tuttosport report, there are a couple strikers in Serie A the Nerazzurri are keen on. Firstly, Parma striker Ange-Yoan Bonny has risen up Inter's shortlist after an impressive first season in Serie A. The Gialloblu value Bonny at around €20 million.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe warned Man Utd's McTominay mistake on the brink of repeating
After Scott McTominay enjoyed the season of his life at Napoli, Paul Ince warned Sir Jim Ratcliffe against allowing other stars to depart Manchester United Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has cautioned Sir Jim Ratcliffe about hastily selling Rasmus Hojlund, advising a loan spell might be more beneficial based on Scott McTominay's experience. The Red Devils had a dreadful season, finishing an abysmal 15th and succumbing to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final. Meanwhile, McTominay flourished with Napoli and was named Serie A's Most Valuable Player. For Antonio Conte's side, he has proven to be a bargain at £25million. Against this backdrop, £72m man Hojlund struggled this season and looked equally at sea under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. However, Ince is convinced there is a top striker in Hojlund waiting to be unleashed. The ex-Inter Milan man urged Ratcliffe to loan the 22-year-old, perhaps to another team in Serie A, so he can find his confidence and return to United as a more well-rounded and experienced forward. United lost out on the opportunity to do this with McTominay, as they sold him to the Serie A champions permanently. Speaking on behalf of bet365, Ince told the Manchester Evening News: "He (Hojlund) is still a young lad. He's got a lot to learn. I'd like to see him go on loan somewhere, let him go find his feet, get a bit of confidence. "It's a tough place at United with the expectations, that are required from you. He might need someone to play next to him, maybe a senior centre-forward, to take him under his wing. "It looks like he is playing every game on his own. I know Zirkzee has come from Bologna, but that has not really worked out in this moment of time. As a striker, you need someone to lean on and take the pressure off you, but he has not had that all season. It looks like it is affecting his game. "There is a very good player in there, believe me, a very good player. Maybe a little loan spell, out in Italy, somewhere like that, get some goals for a few months, get some confidence and then come back in. "United look like they are about to sign (Matheus) Cunha, who is a very good player, but even someone like Ollie Watkins would be a very good player. "Maybe Hojlund could come back after that, work underneath, play a certain amount of games where the pressure would not be on him too much? At the minute, there is a lot of pressure." Despite arriving from Atalanta with a hefty £72m price tag in the summer of 2023, Hojlund has struggled to live up to expectations at Old Trafford, managing just four Premier League goals this season amidst a challenging campaign. United were understood to be plotting a move for Liam Delap, but the Ipswich Town hitman looks to be on his way to Chelsea. Amorim has looked seemingly unimpressed by Hojlund's efforts. However, Ince points to McTominay's successful stint in Naples as an example of how a move could jumpstart his fortunes. He said: "It's funny because some players fit certain teams and environments. "When you look at Scott McTominay, you think, 'How the hell did they let him go?' Sometimes, it's the manager, what is going on at the club. You look at Antony, he's been great at Real Betis and played in a cup final. "You look at these two players, who could not perform the way they are performing now. Is it them, is it the coach, is it the environment, the pressures and expectations of playing for Manchester United? "As a midfield player, I've always loved McTominay, I always thought he was one of the few who was actually trying to make things happen at Manchester United. But I'm so pleased he's managed to go there, because he will be a god there. I know what those fans are like and Antony the same." Paul Ince was speaking on behalf of bet365, the official global partner of the UEFA Champions League, which is hosting its Big Ticket Giveaway Game this Friday 30th May in Munich from 4pm, where fans have the chance to win tickets to the UEFA Champions League final. ‘They do not care' – Fans can't believe what Bruno Fernandes tried while 1-0 down in potentially his last Man Utd game
Fernandes has been heavily linked with a £100m move to Saudi Arabia HEEL TURN 'They do not care' – Fans can't believe what Bruno Fernandes tried while 1-0 down in potentially his last Man Utd game BRUNO FERNANDES left Man Utd fans stunned with his attempt to get his side back into the game away to Hong Kong. With the Red Devils trailing 1-0, their captain was put through on goal with the chance to equalise. 4 Bruno Fernandes was through on goal Credit: MUTV 4 But then he tried to score with a rabona Credit: MUTV 4 Fernandes then won the ball back and played a pass to Rasmus Hojlund Credit: MUTV 4 But Hojlund lost the ball Credit: MUTV But he then attempted a rabona, which the goalkeeper saved with his leg. The Portugal star was then accused of "not caring" by supporters. One fan wrote: "Man United 1-0 down to Hong Kong and Bruno tries this… "They simply don't care!" And another posted: "Get rid of Bruno asap" And a third commented: "Ah man the level of arrogance from a team that finished 16th" But other fans were more annoyed with the actions of Rasmus Hojlund. That's because Fernandes did manage to retrieve the situation, control the ball again and play a pass to the striker, who was just outside the six-yard box. One fan commented: "I'm more interested in how Hojlund can't control a simple pass." Ruben Amorim bursts out laughing when asked about Man Utd star's future Another wrote: "Hojlunds first touch is that bad, his second touch is a tackle" And a third put: "That's embarrassing. They should be taking this seriously, I can't believe he has just tried to pass to Hojlund there." The incident could have ended up being an infamous end to Fernandes' Man Utd career as his agent reportedly held talks with Al Hilal this week. The Saudi side are looking to secure a £100m deal ahead of their Club World Cup campaign. And that could see Fernandes earn a tax-free £700,000-a-week, three-year deal worth £200m including bonuses. If the match in Hong Kong does turn up to be Fernandes' last for Man Utd, then his blushes were at least spared by his team-mates. Striker Chido Obi netted a second-half double before Ayden Heaven scored a late third to secure a 3-1 win.
