Aldi Now Has the Trader Joe's Treat Shoppers 'Buy 3 at a Time'

As a huge fan of Trader Joe's, there are certain products I know I'm going to end up buying whenever I visit, such as Hold the Cone, a mini ice cream treat currently offered in four flavors. My favorite is the chocolate chip variety, which features vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips in a chocolate cone with a chocolate shell on top. These mini cones are a staple in my house, but it looks like there's now a competitor I have to try. A new frozen treat recently appeared in the freezer aisle at Aldi. It looks delicious—and familiar. In the last couple of weeks, some eagle-eyed Aldi shoppers have spotted a brand-new freezer find: Sundae Shoppe Tiny Cones. The bite-sized ice cream cones come in three classic flavors, with each variety featuring unique toppings. These Tiny Cones look similar to the mini ice cream cones at Trader Joe's, which have earned high praise over the years from shoppers. Fans on social media consistently hype Hold the Cone, with multiple shoppers on Reddit claiming that they eat the treat every day. Or as one Redditor said, "I buy three [boxes] at a time!!!!" The vanilla cone with vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate sauce and hazelnut pieces, while the chocolate version has chocolate ice cream, sauce, and flakes. And the third flavor available, strawberry, has strawberry ice cream with strawberry sauce on top. Trader Joe's carries these three flavors, too. However, while some flavors at TJ's come in a chocolate cone, each variety at Aldi features a classic, plain cone. Although they are small, shoppers on social media are having big reactions to the latest find. One fan on Facebook wrote, "They live up to their name, but a nice little dessert." Another Aldi shopper on Facebook said, "My kids are going to eat these overnight, they don't stand a chance!' And another fan wrote, "We have these!! So yummy!!" Whether you're looking for a fun summer dessert or a midnight snack, Aldi's new Tiny Cones are sure to do the trick. Each box includes 12 mini ice cream cones for $3.99, which is the same price as Trader Joe's. However, a box at TJ's only has eight cones. You might want to head to Aldi soon, though. Like many seasonal Aldi Finds, they won't last long. And if Aldi fans are anything like Trader Joe's fans, shoppers will be buying in bulk. Read the original article on ALLRECIPES

Trader Joe's fan-favorite dessert is back in stock, finally

Anyone who shops at Trader Joe's probably has a list of favorite items from the store. I never leave the store without a bag of peanut butter pretzels, a container of spinach-artichoke dip, and a handful of Chomps for my daughter. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Whenever I have friends or family for dinner, I head to Trader Joe's for dessert. My go-to is a mixed platter of Trader Joe's Hold The Cone mini ice creams, Passion Fruit Merengue Tartelettes, and assorted mochi balls. It's easy and delicious. There aren't that many stores that have literal fan pages across social media, a podcast ("Inside Trader Joe's," in case you're interested), and a vibrant blog with recipes and household tips. Then there are the mini canvas totes that the brand drops a couple of times a year and that often sell out. Image source: Shutterstock Trader Joe's is definitely one of those stores with cult status. Trader Joe's is beloved for many reasons, including its low prices. Even though it's considered a specialty grocer, you will find pretty much every staple you could need, at prices that are surprisingly low when compared to mainstream grocery stores. One of the ways Trader Joe's keeps its prices relatively low is by private-labeling products. Over on Reddit, redditor @cookiebutterlove keeps a long list of items s/he believes are Trader Joe's private labeled: Butter Waffle Cookies - Jules Destrooper Butter CrispsCheddar CheeseSticks - John Wm. Related: Trader Joe's cracks down on customer problem Trader Joe's is also known for carrying seasonal items, which can frustrate some shoppers (or maybe it's just me?). For example, you will only find puff pastry during the fall and winter holiday period. You will only find Halloumi cheese, that delicious feta-like cheese, during certain times of the year, and roasted pumpkin ravioli is a fall-only treat. Apparently the company's Carrot Mini Sheet Cake is one of those items that's not always in stock. So when it is, people go crazy for it. One of the reasons people seem to love this sweet treat is that unlike most traditional carrot cake recipes, it doesn't contain raisins or chunks of walnut (though it does have walnut meal in the batter, so if you're allergic, you'll want to avoid this one). The cake retails for $5.99, so it won't break the bank. On Reddit, some TJ's fans report they usually grab a few cakes. One for eating and the rest for freezing.
