Tornado warning issued in eastern Manitoba, possible funnel cloud over Powerview-Pine Falls
A tornado warning is in effect for parts of Manitoba as a severe thunderstorm makes its way through the province's southeast.
Environment Canada issued the warnings at around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The warnings were in effect for the R.M. of Alexander including Powerview-Pine Falls, and the Manigotagan Black River and Hollow Water reserves.
As of 6:47 p.m., a possible tornado was over Powerview-Pine Falls heading east at 40 kilometres per hour. The federal agency said damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
Manitobans should take cover immediately if the threatening weather approaches, the warning said.
