A HOLLYOAKS star has left the soap after 12 years with his character being brutally killed off in a shocking twist.
The Channel 4 soap is known for saying goodbye to its characters in often harrowing ways and today was no exception.

Viewers watching the episode on the channel's streaming service this morning watched the twist play out.
Robbie Roscoe had been seen for weeks being held captive by serial killer Jez Blake after discovering his secret.
However Robbie's behaviour had been strangely calm considering his ordeal, calmly talking to Jez despite what was happening to him.
And other clues - like Robbie being left in Jez's shed for weeks while he went on holiday - had hinted all was not what it seemed.
Today that was confirmed when Jez had a conversation with daughter Sienna that made him want to be a better person.
As a result he let Robbie go free - and viewers watched Robbie walk off into the village given a chance to reunite with girlfriend Vicky Grant.
But as he ran to her things took a turn when she simply walked through Robbie having not seen him at all.
Robbie then vanished and a flashback revealed the truth as Sienna made a horrifying discovery at the allotment.
Having suspected something wasn't quite right with her dad, Sienna searched his safe place and made a chilling discovery.
Digging up Jez's secrets she found proof that he was responsible for both Robbie's death and Mercedes McQueen's son Bobby Costello.
A horrified Sienna looked terrified about what she'd discovered.
Sobbing, she realised Jez is a serial killer - but what will she do now? Will Jez stop her from exposing him?
