Twin sisters from Ulhasnagar score above 99% in 10th exams, aim to become doctors

ULHASNAGAR: It is said that "no matter what the situation, if you have the desire in your heart, you will find the way." This is what the twin sisters Disha and Neha Nandani from Ulhasnagar proved by scoring 99.60 and 99.40 percent in the recently declared 10th CBSE results. Both twin sisters, whose parents are somehow educating their daughters by doing small jobs, want to become doctors. However, due to the financial situation, their father, Sunder Nandani, and mother, Jaywanti, found the desire of their two daughters a difficult path. The recent excellent result of the twin sisters in the recently declared 10th result now gives them hope that their daughters will be able to fulfil their dream of becoming doctors. Sunder mentioned that a Kalyan-based class also came forward to bear the expenses of both daughters for the preparation of the NEET exam required to get admission for doing MBBS. Both the girls, Disha and Neha, said that even though the financial condition of their parents was weak, they never let any shortage affect their studies. According to their mother, Jaywanti, apart from the Holy Family School, the Christi classes in Ulhasnagar also contributed a lot to the education of the girls. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo They gave them the opportunity to pay the fees in many instalments, which enabled them to succeed in educating them. Both twin sisters said that they used to study for four hours a day apart from school and class, and they were confident that they would get good marks. They are happy that both of them got more than 99 percent marks. Sunder told TOI, "I lost my job in Covid, after which my wife started making sweets at home. Both of us are now making and selling sweets, running our livelihood by doing the same, and also managing the education of the children." He further said, "Due to my daughters' ambition of becoming doctors, earlier we were worried about how we would bear their further education expenses. But due to their good marks, a class has come forward to bear their NEET preparation. " On Wednesday, when the local BJP MLA Kumar Ailani came to know about these twin girls, he facilitated them and offered both girls and their parents all possible help if needed.

Sign Up Now For Porirua Has Talent

Porirua Has Talent is set to return riding high on the success of last year's event which showcased the talent of local tamariki and rangatahi. Registrations are now open at and close on Friday 4 July. Auditions will be held on Saturday 19 July, with the grand final on Saturday 16 August at Te Rauparaha Arena. Porirua Mayor Anita Baker says not only were the performances fantastic, but the event also brought the community together. 'The smiles on the faces of those children and young people just said it all. This event provides hope and inspiration to our tamariki and rangatahi and shows them they really can do anything if they put themselves forward.' Event organiser Tania Carr says last year's performers left her lost for words. 'I was stunned by the variety and depth of talent our young people brought to the stage. We had everything from spectacular dance moves to youngsters with spine chilling vocals through to talented guitarists, pianists and a seriously staunch young beat boxer. 'Holy Family School left the audience wanting more with their winning kapa haka performance and I never even knew what hip hop animation was until Sage Ngatai Skipper hit the dance floor.' Tania says she's really excited to see what new and unexpected talents are uncovered this year. We're looking for the best singers, musicians, dancers, and groups in two different age categories: 5-12 and 13-25. Again, there will be awesome prizes for winners and additional opportunities for those winners to showcase their talents more widely. Social media sensation, cultural comedian, actor and musician Pairama Wright joins last year's judges; NZ Alt Country Singer/Songwriter Ainslie Allen, Fredwyn Kisona of Tomorrow People, talented dancer and choreographer Aroha Davidson.

Temporary traffic lights outside south Essex school spark 'disruption' concerns

TEMPORARY traffic lights could be in place on South Benfleet's Kents Hill Road for almost a week as UK Power Networks carry out emergency works. According to the permit for the works, the temporary traffic lights could be operating outside Holy Family School until Friday. The works have been described as potentially "very disruptive" by Conservative Essex County Council councillor for South Benfleet, Andrew Sheldon, who has vowed to look into the works. We're now on WhatsApp! Join our new channel at to get all the latest breaking news and exclusive stories delivered straight to your phone. "Thank you to those who sent me photos of the UK Power Networks on Kents Hill Road by Holy Family School," said Mr Sheldon. "These were news to me and are emergency works. I have looked up the emergency permit and it says the temporary lights could be there until 2nd May. "This would be incredibly disruptive and I am trying to get hold of UKPN regional head office to discuss this urgently but they are legendarily hard to get hold of at the weekend. I will keep trying and will update residents where I hear more." Disruption - Mr Sheldon is looking to organise a visit from a council inspector (Image: Andrew Sheldon) Mr Sheldon also pointed to impact on driving as result of the work and said he is looking to arrange a visit from a council inspector. "Another big issue is the position of the works is forcing drivers to drive over the potholes on the edge of the bus stop that there is due a road closure to fix in two weeks time and is breaking them up quicker," he said. "I am going to see if I can get an inspector down to see if it warrants an emergency 'make safe' temporary fix to stop if breaking up more. If there is a temporary make safe repair however, it will not stop the permanent repair from happening on the 14th May." UK Power Networks have been contacted for comment.
