The crime happened on Tuesday, May 27, around 11:30 at night. The NOPD released security camera images that show the two suspects and the golf cart that was taken.

According to cathedral workers, the golf cart was being rented for workers to use during the annual New Orleans Greek Festival, just days earlier. For festival organizers, the theft was just the latest problem, as they had to close the event early on Sunday, May 25, due to the surprise blackout that left more than 100,000 people without power in the New Orleans area.
According to police, the golf cart is a 2024 Evolution Turfman 1000 with a 'Golf Cart World' logo on the front.
