Rivesville honoring veterans with Hometown Hero banner
RIVESVILLE, (WBOY) — Main Street Rivesville is inviting members of its community to show their love and appreciation for the service members in their life with its Hometown Hero Veterans Banner Program.
The banner will be displayed on Memorial Day 2025. With only 50 spots, space is limited. You can find applications at the Rivesville Municipal Building or on the Main Street Rivesville Facebook page. The cost of the banner will be $84.95.
Eligibility requirements include that the honoree is a prior or current service member of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, must be active duty, retired or honorably discharged, must be a local graduate, property owner, or born in the Town or Rivesville.
Palatine Park announces summer concert lineup
'We have a rich tradition here in the Town of Rivesville,' Frank Moore, President of Main Street Rivesville, told 12 News. 'We have a lot of veterans that have served in the past, throughout our different areas we've had, and we'd like to make sure that we have the opportunity to honor those people that have served.'
All completed applications along with a digital photo, signed photo release form and payment can be mailed to Main Street Rivesville PO Box 675 Rivesville, WV 26588, or can be dropped off to a Main Street Rivesville board member during the MRS monthly meeting on the second Thursday of each month in the Rivesville Elementary/Middle School cafeteria.
