Murder charge after man's body found near park south of Brisbane
Police have charged a man with murder after a man's body was found near a park in Logan, south of Brisbane last week.
Twenty-nine-year-old Trevor Doyle was found dead on a footpath by a resident in Reserve Park in Slacks Creek shortly before 7am on Wednesday.
A crime scene was declared and a homicide investigation was launched, involving detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch, Intelligence Unit and the Homicide Investigation Unit.
Police said a 28-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday after officers conducted search warrants at addresses in Bald Hills and Slacks Creek.
The man has been charged with murder, breach domestic violence and drug offences and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations into Mr Doyle's death are continuing and detectives are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.
In particular, they want to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the park between 7pm on Tuesday and 7am on Wednesday.
They also want to see any dash cam or CCTV footage from within that time frame.
On Wednesday, Detective Inspector Chris Knight said police didn't know how long Mr Doyle, who they say was known to them, had been dead before his body was found.
Detective Inspector Knight said the circumstances surrounding Mr Doyle's death were "tragic".
Police are providing support to Mr Doyle's family.
