Spencerport boys lacrosse opens season with chilly, dominant win
SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — The Spencerport boys lacrosse team opened up their 2025 season with a convincing victory, taking down the defending Class C sectional champions from Honeoye Falls-Lima 13-5 on Tuesday evening. Spencerport led 4-0 after the first quarter, 9-0 at halftime, and scored the first ten goals of the game. Gavin Brown led the Ragners with four goals. Jayden Mandarano had a hat-trick, with all of his goals coming in the first quarter. Zach Tortora also had three goals. Zachary Ajavananda had one goal and three assists. Spencerport (1-0) will look to continue their momentum into their next game when they host Williamsville East on Saturday, April 5th. The Rangers finished 10-8 last year, losing to the eventual sectional champs from Victor in the Class B semifinals. Honeoye Falls-Lima (0-1) will try and bounce back on Thursday, April 3rd when they host East. The Cougars lost a handful of key players from last year's sectional title squad, including Chase Perryman and News 8 Primetime 585 Elite Award Winner Drew Angelo. However, they return numerous talented players like Quinn Kalibourne and Grady Goodberlet and should once again be a contender in Class C. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
