Jessica Alba's Teen Parenting Reality Check Is the Pep Talk Every Exhausted Parent Needs

Jessica Alba didn't mince words when Jenna Bush Hager asked her what to expect 'on the teen front' now that her daughter is 12. Appearing on Today With Jenna & Friends alongside co-host Lizzy Mathis on Monday, Alba jumped in before the question was even finished: 'Oh, it's awful. It's not great,' she said. 'Yeah, it's not fun.' It's not the first time Alba has offered straight-up parenting truth. In the past, she's shared how she got her oldest daughter to put down her iPad without a fight and even credited therapy with making her a better parent to her girls. But this time, the Honest Renovations co-hosts were all about preparing Bush Hager — and every mom within earshot — for the emotional rollercoaster that comes with high school hallways and teenage independence. More from SheKnows Jessica Alba's Blissful Vacation Could Be the Perfect Response to Ex Cash Warren's Rumored Romance Mathis described the teen years as a 'very eye-opening experience.' 'I always want them to tell me everything, but when they tell you everything, it's like whoa, eyes opened,' she said. Alba agreed, warning that teens will give you 'so many details' — whether you're ready for them or not. 'It takes you back to when you were a teenager. You really have to check yourself,' Mathis continued. For Alba, one of the biggest surprises has been 'how early hanging out with boys, and feelings and partying' starts these days. Her daughters Honor, 17, and Haven, 14, are both in high school. 'My other one is going to be a senior and Haven is going to start high school and I hate it,' she admitted. 'I look at baby pictures of her and little baby videos and send them to her just to remind her this is how I see her.' That mix of nostalgia and dread is familiar to any parent watching their kids trade playgrounds for pep rallies. Alba and Mathis know it well — they met when their children were in preschool, long before the Snapchat era and curfews. Now, as they juggle parenting and their Roku Channel series Honest Renovations, the pair are building something even more lasting than the home makeovers they design on screen: a willingness to be open about the hard parts of parenting, without the gloss. Jessica Alba Gives Monochrome a Fresh Edge with Willy Chavarria Design on ‘CBS Mornings'

Jessica Alba opted for a look courtesy of designer Willy Chavarria for her attire while attending a taping of 'CBS Mornings' on Monday in New York City to promote the forthcoming third season of her Roku series 'Honest Renovations.' Alba's look came courtesy of the eponymous designer's spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection, which debuted as part of Paris Fashion Week in June. The blue ensemble featured a wholly monochrome look, with elbow-length short sleeves, buttons down the front placket and a sharp collar with two breast pockets as well. Alba coordinated the look with a matching clutch in a similar fabric and shade of blue. Alba completed the look with pointed-toe white pumps and accessorized with statement earrings. She also wore black sunglasses. Alba regularly collaborates with stylist Ariella Masjedi. Chavarria, who launched his eponymous label in 2015, celebrated his 10th anniversary with his spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection. The curation of pieces, called 'Huron' as an homage to the rural town in California's San Joaquin Valley where Chavarria was born, featured bursts of color and included menswear as well as womenswear. 'Chavarria flashed his showman's side with a collection that was bursting with color inspired by the images of Guy Bourdin, whose photography he's been thinking a lot about lately,' Samantha Conti wrote in WWD's review of the collection. 'My head of design, Rebeca Mendoza, is helping me define womenswear, and making sure that it always comes from a female perspective, because that's important,' Chavarria said, per Conti's review. Known primarily for his menswear designs, Chavarria's spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection featured models 'sporting delightfully bourgeois bouffant hairstyles, and wide-brimmed hats, some adorned with silk roses,' Conti wrote, adding the showcase included 'curvy shirtdresses with pointy collars, structured satin trenches and jackets with puffed-up power shoulders.' Jessica Alba and her Honest Renovations co-star Lizzy Mathis hit the town in style as they celebrate series three release in NYC

Jessica Alba and her best pal Lizzy Mathis appeared closer than ever as they held hands during an outing in New York City on Monday evening. The co-stars, who host Roku's home renovation show Honest Renovations, appeared in good spirits as they stepped out in the Tribeca neighbourhood in Lower Manhattan. The third series of the show is airing this week in the US, no doubt leaving the duo with cause for celebration while hitting the town. Fantastic Four actress Jessica, 44, cut a stylish figure in a strapless black mini dress and tights as she clung onto her pal during their night out. Meanwhile, entrepreneur Lizzy, 41, flashed a huge grin as she engaged in a conversation with Jessica. The co-stars, who host Roku's home renovation show Honest Renovations, appeared in good spirits as they stepped out in the Tribeca neighbourhood in Lower Manhattan Lizzy looked smart in a pair of navy suit trousers and cream top which she paired with embellished ballet flats. Jessica and Lizzy are not only hosts of the popular Roku series but also executive producers. The two are set to 'transform their homes' in the latest series. Speaking on CBS Mornings, Jessica said: 'You're going to laugh, you're going to cry in every episode.' Their latest series comes after Jessica took a break from her new romance with hunky Top Gun actor Danny Ramirez to holiday with her family in Miami. The mother-of-three - who filed for divorce from her husband of 16 years, Cash Warren earlier this year - hit the beach with seven-year-old son Hayes as they walked hand-in-hand on the sand. Their sighting comes two months after she was spotted 'kissing' a mystery man in London, though it remains unclear if that was Danny. The Marvel actress, who plays Sue Storm while Danny plays the new Falcon in the MCU, announced her split from her husband in January with a written statement. She penned: 'I've been on a journey of self realisation and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash... 'I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals. 'We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.' Danny previously starred in Top Gun: Maverick as Lieutenant Mickey Garcia and is currently in the midst of filming Avengers: Doomsday, which is due for release on December 18, 2026. Earlier in the month, it was reported that Jessica is not dating anyone 'seriously' and is just enjoying single life following her divorce.
