Ballard sees a bright path ahead following positive results
PETALING JAYA: A good showing in Hong Kong is a sign that Malaysian athletics are heading in the right direction and the next six months could define their SEA Games campaign in Thailand in December. In the recently concluded Hong Kong Championships, Malaysia won two golds, one silver and three bronzes to shape up nicely for the Asian Track and Field Championships in Gumi, South Korea, from May 27-31.

Solid kickoff to season as Nurul captures triple jump gold in style
PETALING JAYA: National triple jumper Nurul Ashikin Abas got her season off to a good start when she soared to a gold in the Hong Kong Championships. The 24-year-old Nurul, who took the top spot with a leap of 12.97m at the Wan Chai Sports Ground yesterday, said she was on the right track for the Asian Track and Field Championships in Gumi, South Korea, from May 27-31.
