Hong Kong set to host National Games cycling test event in mid-April
A test event for China's National Games is expected to be held in Hong Kong in mid-April, the local cycling chief has revealed, with cyclists from around the region set to take part. Advertisement The city's cycling association has set aside three days – April 19 to 21 – at the Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O for the International Track Cup I & II, but association chairman Leung Hung-tak told the Post that the test event would be held at the same time. Hong Kong is to co-host November's Games alongside Guangdong and Macau. The Hong Kong International Track Cup I & II is a lower-tier event among those run by world governing body the UCI. 'The dates [for the test event] are set for now and if they are to be changed, even the International Track Cup will have to be rescheduled too,' Leung said. 'These two events are to be held concurrently, because we need a proper event to test things. Advertisement 'We have invited teams from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Macau to participate, and there could be more.'
