During their trip to the nation's capital, the veterans will visit their war memorials before returning to Evansville on Saturday night. Today, those veterans will gather at the C.K. Newsome Center for a meet and greet where they will receive their final marching orders, flight updates, and airport information before their trip.
Upon the group's return from Washington, D.C., each veteran will receive dozens of pieces of mail, thanking them for their service. The public is also invited to the Evansville Regional Airport on Saturday evening to attend a welcome home parade, which will take place around 8 o'clock. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, flags, and friends to welcome the veterans home.
