Padraig Harrington announces tragic passing of beloved family dog
Padraig Harrington has announced the tragic passing of his beloved family dog, Setanta.
Padraig and his family brought Setanta home following the passing of their beloved dog, Wilson, to keep their other Bernese Rio company.
Sharing adorable photos of Setanta to share the heartbreaking news, including of Setanta in an Ireland rugby jersey, Padraig wrote that the beloved pup had an adverse reaction to anaesthesia.
'A sad day for my family,' Padraig wrote. 'Tragically we lost Setanta to an adverse reaction to an anaesthetic.'
People were heartbroken for Padraig and his family, with one commenting 'So sorry to hear this Padraig. We had a similar experience with our Bernese a few years ago. The grief of losing a treasured family pet is real, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.'
'Agh no.. so sorry guys, what a beautiful dog and family member,' another wrote. 'We will all miss him here on socials. RIP Setanta.' Bryson DeChambeau, who finished the tournament in fifth place, previously spoke about how Rory didn't speak to him at all on the final day of the tournament — with Padraig criticising Bryson's 'bizarre change' during the third hole of the tournament, sliding out of the tournament in horrendous fashion.
'What was he thinking on the third hole? Bryson has made his game by being a long hitter,' Padraig said at the time. 'He stands up on the third hole with a one-shot lead, possibly can drive the green, he lays up makes bogey; Rory drives it, hits driver up to the near the edge of the green and makes his birdie.'
