Danny Boyle reveals how his daughter stopped traffic to create that infamous deserted scene in 28 Days Later
Danny Boyle has revealed how his daughter helped him stop the traffic while filming 28 Days Later. The infamous scene from the 2002 post-apocalyptic horror film sees Cillian Murphy walking through a deserted London as he discovers a virus has caused the breakdown of society. And now the director has revealed how he filmed the deserted scenes, especially as they didn't have the money to afford to close the road. Speaking in an interview with The Times, Danny, 68, explained how he even employed his 18-year-old daughter to help out. 'We didn't have the money to close the bridge, but had a plan to be there at 4am. The police can't ask the traffic to stop, but they will allow you to ask drivers. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'So we hired a lot of girls, including my own daughter, who was 18. Anybody driving at that time is a bloke, so we had the girls lean in, saying, "Do you mind?" And it worked fine.' The original film 28 Days Later starred Cillian, 49, as a bicycle courier who wakes up from a coma to discover the accidental release of a highly contagious, aggression-inducing virus that has caused the breakdown of society. But despite frenzied speculation that he would be reprising his role in this sequel, when the trailer came out in December, one character appeared to resemble a zombified form of Cillian's character Jim from the first film. However, this theory was quickly shut down when a London art dealer and model revealed he was the one playing the zombie character. But Danny has confirmed that Cillian will make an appearance in the second and third films of the new trilogy. He is also serving as executive producer. Speaking about Cillian's role in the new post-apocalypse thriller, Danny told IGN: 'He is in the second one', adding: 'I shouldn't give away too much – I'll get killed.' He went on to say: 'We haven't got the money for the third one yet. It will depend how the first one does, I guess. But hopefully if we do OK, they'll give us the go-ahead for the money and for the third one. Everybody's standing by for that, really, including Cillian.' Earlier this week Jodie Comer admitted she was 'scared' while filming the new zombie thriller. The actress, 32, stars as Isla in the upcoming film, the wife of Aaron Taylor-Johnson 's scavenger character Jamie. And while the film is intended to petrify movie fans, Jodie has told how despite starring in the film, she was left startled herself as she insisted that one 'can't fake' the emotions she exhibited on screen. Speaking in a featurette ahead of the film's release later this month, Jodie explained: 'Being on a Danny Boyle set, I found it to be the most amazing experience. 'The relationship that the camera seemed to be having with the characters and the story and seeing how that comes to life. 'I was quite taken aback because I felt like I'd spent a lot of time outdoors in the beautiful locations and then all of a sudden, I'm being chased. I was scared - there is a kind of tension within it, you can't fake it. When you're in these high intensity situations, it's exhilarating, it's thrilling, it's terrifying.' She went on to add of the film's director: 'I think what Danny brings to this genre is humanity and emotion.'

Horror fans are just discovering the star of Final Destination Bloodlines acted in a cult classic decades ago
Fans are just discovering that one of the stars of Final Destination Bloodlines acted in a beloved classic nearly two decades ago... and many have been left stunned over the revelation. Final Destination Bloodlines hit theaters last week and, ever since it premiered, many viewers have taken to social media to gush over actor Richard Harmon. In the new horror flick, Richard, 33, portrays Erik Campbell - the cousin of main character Stefani Reyes, who is played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana. His rebellious and bold personality quickly captured the hearts of millions across the globe, turning him into a social media sensation practically over night. But when one X, formerly Twitter, user pointed out that Richard was actually in another popular movie when he was just a teen, hoards of his newfound fans were left completely shocked over the news. It turns out, Richard starred as the Vampire Kid in the popular 2007 horror flick Trick 'r Treat. Starring in the flick at only 16 years old, Richard's character was the one who wreaked havoc on the school bus before it plunged off a cliff and into the lake, killing him and the rest of the passengers on board. Since it takes place on Halloween and he's wearing a Dracula mask in the scene, Richard's face is never shown during the flick, which is why many had no idea that was even him. 'Wait so you're telling me that the Vampire Kid from Trick 'r Treat grew up to be the dude from Final Destination Bloodlines that every man and woman are thirsting for?' one surprised X user wrote after making the discovery on Monday. Immediately, their post went viral, gaining more than 479,000 views in a matter of hours - and hundreds rushed to the replies to share their thoughts. 'Bro this actually blows my mind. Trick 'r Treat is one of my favorite movies and I would have probably never noticed this,' one person wrote. 'Shut the f**k up no way,' someone else said. 'I am shook,' another another used, while a fourth added, 'I love him even more now.' 'Holy s**t that's so cool,' a fifth post said. 'So he's in two movies I love.' 'It's the same actor?' asked a different shocked X user. 'Trick 'r Treat is my favorite Halloween movie ever.' 'I didn't even realize that was him,' read another post. In 2011, he starred in two episodes of the children's anthology horror show The Haunting Hour: The Series, before he was cast as Jasper Ames in The Killing.
