Iranian Embassy Flags Fake Social Media Accounts Undermining India-Iran Relations
The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi has issued a stern warning about a series of fake social media accounts impersonating official Iranian entities, allegedly aiming to disrupt the diplomatic relationship between Iran and India. In a post on X, the embassy highlighted that these fraudulent accounts are disseminating misinformation, including false claims about Iran reconsidering the Chabahar port agreement with India due to alleged US military activities. Some fake channels, under the name of Iran, are attempting to damage Iran-India relations. These accounts do not belong to Iran. 🇮🇷 🇮🇳 — Iran in India (@Iran_in_India) July 12, 2025 The embassy shared screenshots of several such deceptive profiles, some bearing blue verification ticks, which could mislead users into believing their authenticity. Among the false narratives propagated is the assertion that Iran is reevaluating its strategic partnership with India, particularly concerning the Chabahar port project. These claims have been identified as baseless and are seen as attempts to sow discord between the two nations. Investigations suggest that many of these fake accounts originate from Pakistan, indicating a coordinated effort to manipulate public perception and strain India-Iran relations. This development is particularly concerning given India's unique diplomatic stance during recent regional tensions, where it maintained open channels with both Israel and Iran. Notably, during the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, India's balanced approach was evident. Further emphasising the strength of India-Iran ties, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was present in New Delhi during India's Operation Sindoor, an evacuation mission amid the Israel-Iran conflict. During his visit, he expressed Iran's willingness to mediate between India and Pakistan, showcasing Tehran's commitment to regional stability.

Iran calls on islamic countries for joint action against zionist entity's violations
Tehran – Saba: Iran today, Sunday, called on Islamic countries to take collective action in response to the increasing breaches of international law by the Zionist entity. According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, during a phone call with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, expressed appreciation for the latter's sympathy and condemnation of the criminal aggression launched by the Zionist entity against Iran. He urged Islamic countries to unite in confronting the escalating violations of international law by the Zionist entity at the expense of regional nations. IRNA reported that Amir-Abdollahian stated during the call, "The blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, along with the clear threat to regional and international security and stability by the illegitimate Israeli entity—including its massacres against civilians and university professors, as well as its targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities—has once again demonstrated that this entity's impunity only emboldens it to commit more crimes and aggressions." Amir-Abdollahian emphasized Iran's inherent right to self-defense against foreign aggression, affirming the determination of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to defend the nation until the aggression ceases. Iranian Foreign Ministry: Path to agreement goes through negotiations, not media
Tehran - Saba: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian responded to media speculation about an imminent agreement between Tehran and Washington, stating: "The media continues to predict an impending deal between Iran and the U.S. I am not confident that we are truly at such a point." According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Amir-Abdollahian added in a post on X (formerly Twitter): "The Islamic Republic of Iran is sincerely seeking a diplomatic solution that secures the interests of all parties. However, this requires an agreement that lifts all sanctions and guarantees Iran's nuclear rights, including enrichment." The Iranian foreign minister also referenced a report by an American news channel citing Austrian intelligence sources regarding Iran's nuclear program, saying: "As for the latest fabricated news against Iranian and American diplomacy, using Iran's name as a tool to attack domestic critics in the U.S. is a worthless move, even for 'Israel'." Fox News had claimed that a new intelligence report prepared by Austrian authorities alleged that Iran is still continuing its active nuclear weapons program, which the report suggested could be used to launch long-range missiles. It added that this intelligence data collected by Austrian authorities contradicts the assessment of the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Earlier, in March, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines informed the Senate Intelligence Committee that Iran is not manufacturing nuclear weapons and that the Supreme Leader of Iran has not authorized the militarization of the country's nuclear program. Iran has often alleged of cross-border terror from Pakistan impacting its Sishtan Balochistan province. Tehran's opinion is that it wanted to build the fence to prevent terrorist groups from entering from neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to Iranian security services, Iran's borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan account for 80% of drug trafficking into the country. The wall will be four meters high and almost 300 kilometers long. Construction has already started in the southern part of Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, as well as Razavi Khorasan, it has been learnt. In January 2024 Iran carried out a missile and drone attack in Pakistan along its border against terror group Jaish al-Adl . Pakistan had then said the attack was "illegal" and warned of "serious consequences". The then Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, speaking in Davos, had claimed that no Pakistani citizens had been targeted, only members of Jaish al-Adl. Jaish al-Adl is an influential terror group operating in Sistan-Balochistan, according to the office of the US Director of National Intelligence. It is designated as a terrorist group by both Washington and Tehran. Following the Pahalgam terror attacks Iran strongly condemned it and later when its Foreign Minister visited India it was decided to combat terror in the regional context. Recently, NSA spoke to his Iranian counterpart on regional developments besides Chabahar port.
